Special Request.

Fancy making a Pink and Black card? If you do,there's still 5 days left to enter one into Scrapbook Sister's Card Challenge, that is of course if you haven't entered already as several of my lovely regular visitors already have! Go on,give it a go,I'm sure you'll find a birthday or other occasion on your calendar to use it for.

Don't you always find that when a friend asks you to make a card for them to give that it takes longer to do! You wouldn't believe how long I spent in the shop today deciding on what paper to buy,of course I haven't ANY paper at home lol! I eventually decided on the stripey by Nitwits and the swirly green Petal Pushers by Bo Bunny,I hated cutting into it as the other side was just soooo gorgeous. I cut an aperture from the white card stock and then decided to add a layer of yellow card stock behind with a slightly smaller aperture so that there was a thin frame of yellow. I'm afraid I resorted to my usual numbers and bunting design but was asked to add Husband to the card, boy did this cause me trouble,I'm not entirely happy with the end result as I feel that it looks a little off balance. My friend however is ecstatic with her unique card but I feel I could have done better, maybe I should have just added a peel off Hb instead???
I'm going to use this card for the following challenges,
Southern Girls first challenge,Anything goes,
Creative Cottage,challenge 22,Celebration,
Penny's Paper Crafty 37,Birthday,
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge 58,Celebrate,
OLLCB62,Stripes,
It's been a long day and my bed is calling me so,Thanks for stopping by,
Julie.x

Fantastic card Julie. I think it is perfect as it is. A peel off would have spoilt it in my opinion. I think it is perfectly balanced. Love the cut out effect of the '40'. x

The card looks great Julie, I love the cut out in the card with the 40 over the top and bunting wins over peel offs every time!

Hi Julie, what a brilliant man's card. The cut-out aperture and 40 look amazing and the "husband" looks quirky and fun - I think it's perfectly balanced. Hugs, Denise x

No, I think the "husband" is better in these letters than it would have been in peeloffs. I love the colours, warm yet sufficiently masculine :)

Hello julie Fab card. I don't think that it looks off balance at all - actually the differnt elements drew my eye allover the card - and I love the aperture with the yellow showing x

Whenever anyone asks me to make a card I get a case of the "not good enoughs". But you have nothing to worry about, your card is wonderful. I can see why your friend loved it so much. Thanks for joining us at Southern Girls this challenge.
