The Last Of The Christmas Cards

Thought that before I put Christmas to bed I'd show you the last Christmas card made this year. A Quick and easy jobbie, just a snowflake punched from a panel then placed on a mat of silver mirror card with a thin strip of silver ribbon wrapped before replacing the diecut and highlighting it with a crystal.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

CHNC105, Anything goes,
Craftymess 24, Sparkle/bling,
BBS17, Winter,snowflakes,

What An Odd Angle

It's my brother's birthday tomorrow and usually I make his card well in advance of Christmas so that there's no panic, it also means that I can put it in with his Christmas goodies so I know it won't get delayed in the post. This year however, I forgot but miraculously I came up with an idea for a simple one layer card that turned out better than I imagined. I just poked a brad through the card to act as a nail, stamped the "Happy Birthday" then placed a piece of copy paper with a narrow rectangle cut out, over the words so that after I'd used distress inks then removed the mask it looked like a sign. I then just used a fine marker pen to add the "string" to hang it from the nail. I then used the same technique to hang the letters from the sign. After I'd finished I thought that the brown marker looked a bit too strong so used a white gel pen to dot onto the line which then made it look softer and a bit like twine. A pierced edge with a pattern maker tool completes the look, oh,except from a thin outline of Copic to add dimension/shadow to the edges.
Sorry for the odd angle of the photo, not sure what happened there.

A Christmas Wedding

This is one of the Wedding cards ordered by a friend of mine.

The wedding colours are black, white and silver with  a snowflake theme.

After attending Karen's class, I just knew I wanted to make one of these folded cards for my friend and luckily the "Karen Burniston" Sizzix dies arrived just in time.

Instead of using design papers, I used pearlescent paper which I embossed. I then made a box to match.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

DBD66, Anything goes,
LRW165, Box,

Merry Christmas! (nearly)

The lovely Karen has been making these cards for weeks and after attending one of her classes I just had to treat myself to the Sizzix Dies and make some more!

I just love how they fold.

And to be honest, once you get the hang of them they are so easy to make.

I've even made one for a wedding card which I can't share till after the event.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-

A Couple Of Christmas Quickies

It's no secret that I'm more disorganised than usual this year so when I find a quick design I make cards in multiples.

The image is a Nitwits from a magazine giveaway a while back. I discovered a quick way to cut out the stamped layers meaning that you only cut out the three edges  and by starting at the bottom section of the tree and working my way up  each time you cover up the rough cut edge with the next section! Ok, you probably know that but for me it was a revelation and I was a bit excited by it.

I even used my green ink pad and green twine for the first time.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
CIP, Merry Christmas,
DVC47, Christmas,
GL, Christmas,
JS, Christmas,
QC26, Christmas,
TPP126, CAS.

Just realised I need to make 2 more cards! oops, looks like am early start for me then.

Time Out!

I'm sooooo tired, still haven't finished making all of my Christmas cards yet but at least I've got the postal ones made, written and sent  on their way. My daughter's convinced me to sit and watch a Christmas favourite of ours,"Miracle on  34th Street" so I'm watching with one eye and writing a post with the other lol!
If you've never seen the film, you really ought to, it's a real, feel good film!

I needed a simple design for a card and came up with this one using my lovely Fishtail Flags which I nested in order to cut a narrow window in the larger flag, slightly shaping and placing over a stamped sentiment. A bit of paper piercing a gorgeous die cut snowflake topped with a Swarovski Hot Fix Flat Back White Pearl completes the card. Not quite a five minute card but once you've got all the die cutting done, assembling doesn't take too long.
In a recent post I showed a variation of a design and the same goes here, the usual last minute request for a birthday card came whilst I was making the Christmas cards so I tweaked the design slightly, used up a leftover patchwork flower and paper pierced around the edges.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
ABCCC, Favourite die cut,
PPC107, Christmas,
CTO93, Christmas anything goes,
CMC10, Snowflakes,
HOCC27, Christmas,
Lexi 80, Snow,
MIM, Anything goes.

Anything Goes With The Ladybugs.

Oh my Goodness can you believe that in one week's time, Santa will have delivered the pressie's and will be sitting with his feet soaking in a bowl of water and relaxing whilst Mother Clause cooks his Christmas dinner!
So why then am I still struggling to get the Christmas cards made? So when Queen Ladybug Kerry decided that the last  TLT challenge of 2012 would be "Anything Goes"
there was only one way that I could go!
I coloured up my rather gorgeous "Tracey and Reindeer" for the first time and made an oh so simple design of a card.
Now I know it's a bit late for this year but if you fancy treating yourself to this stamp it's still available at 70% off which would make it an absolute bargain at £1.95!!!
Check out the 70% off cling stamp sale

A Variation Of A Design

I've been finding myself lacking in time to craft lately, I'm sure I'm not the only one but I've found myself keep going back to one simple design.

A few variations in papers and flowers.

But a simple design that suits a wide age range of recipients.(does that actually sound right?)
I'm feeling a little guilty to confess that I even resorted to sending one of this design, the first card here, to Queen Ladybug herself, I send my apologies Kerry!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Bearly Mine 65, Anything goes,
EAC217, Anything goes,

My Baby's Fourteen Today!

I don't know where the years have gone but she's grown into a beautiful, kind, gorgeous young lady.

I'm sure that Mo Manning has seen her at some time as this image is so her, though I've been informed by the birthday girl herself that "It can't look like me, the parting is in the wrong place and I don't wear a necklace".
I however think it's her to a T, especially the glance up under her hair and the Uggs (other makes of footwear are available lol!). She is from the set Dani and friends.
I'm sure that you may have noticed that I'm still getting the "Patchwork" out of my system.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Sparklicious!

I can't believe that it's December already and I still have loads of Christmas cards to make, it's a good job the TLT challenge theme for this fortnight is
not that my sparkle shows up too well in this photo!
I used a Gelly Roll clear glitter pen all around the frame and the edges of the card, it is so pretty, the finest glittery shimmer ever, just a shame it doesn't show up on photo!
The image is "Nikki running with Buttercup" just perfect for my lovely friend and her dog!
Now, if you fancy using this gorgeous image, normally you would have to pay £6.50 but as it's Christmas, Kerry will let you have it at a 70% discount! I think that makes it £2.60,what a bargain, I'd order one quick, you wouldn't want to miss out!

Snowflakes

Happy Tuesday!!!!!
The Ladybugs have a new theme today and this fortnight the hostess is Diane who wants to see  "Snowflakes"

Kerry gave each of the Ladybugs an acetate box to have a play with. I coloured my Mr and Mrs Snowman Delight, paperpiecing their hats and scarves.

I then covered 4x35g bars of chocolate to go inside, layering the papers and embossing the pearlescent white paper..

Green & Black's Organic Milk Chocolate 35g

I think this would make a perfect stocking gift or teacher's gift, coming out at under £4 for the four bars and the acetate box.

Here are the sizes and prices for the clear boxes in inches as they will be on the website...

4 1/8" x 4 1/16" x 1" - 45p each
5 5/8" x 5 1/2" x 1" - 60p each
4 7/8" x 6 5/8" x 1" - 60p each

A Break From The Patchwork

I thought I'd give you a break from the patchwork and share my husband's Birthday card. I used my Marij Rahder Stamp for the birds and drew and cut a tiny birthday crown from Kraft paper. The cream was embossed using a star folder, I pierced the edges using a pattern maker tool and tied twine around it before adding it to the card front.

The heart was cut using Plantins Schoolbook on the Cricut.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
DBD61, Anything goes,
PPC102, Anything goes,
OBGC, Anything but Christmas,(Marij Rahder Stamp)

Patchwork Part 2

Here comes another, lol! I just love this patchwork look at the mo, I haven't the patience for the real, work of art stitching kind, just the snippets of paper kind, I hope you approve as I think there could be a few more making their way to my posts. I should have taken a side view here as the scalloped circle frame is popped up on 3D pads. I should have thought it through a bit better, all those individual papers to create the patchwork scalloped frame, worth it I think but when I was tidying up after I had one of those lightbulb moments, now I can't wait to try it out as I'm sure it'll be quicker than the method I used.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
AGCB80, Stitches,
CRC, Punches and diecuts,
OBAGC, Anything but Christmas,(Old Punch)
