Sparkle Added.

Before I start, let me apologise to my team mates for the lateness of this post, have been a bit under the weather but it's looking like the sun is peeping out from behind the clouds and it's blue skies ahead!
On to the Southern Girls Challenge
The present theme is
Check out the gorgeous image that I used this time,
It is Winnie Wonderland Watch by Polkadoodles one of sponsors this time, you can visit the challenge blog for full details of both of our sponsors this time.
I coloured the image using Copics and Polychromos then fussy cut it out, Embossed and distressed my background then added my image using 3d pads, hanging the pocket watch from the perfect piece of gold lace. I then used some stickles to add sparkle to the butterfly's wings and  just a few gold sequins to the background.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Brown Sugar 252, Use sequins,
Patties 134, For the ladies,
Polkadoodles 20, Anything goes,

Lavinia Expects Some Snow!

It's time for the new challenge at Lavinia today, and the theme this time is

I got out my masking fluid, flicked it over my card and waited for it to dry. I then stamped my Spring trees, dobbing some masking fluid over the edges of branches to look like snow was settling.(Dobbing really is a technical term ;)) After the fluid had dried, I inked my background before rubbing off the now rubbery fluid, leaving the white of the cardstock showing through. The sentiment is from seasonal words set.

The masking fluid came out again for my second card.I stamped my background using various trees and added snowflakes to my card base before adding my fussy cut cat to my window frame.

A sprinkling of glitter was added to both cards!

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
CSD, Winter,
CCC101, Cold Outside,
CM, Embossing,
HJCC, Embossing.

Cover Up.

I thought I'd share a little something that I made for a gift.

I picked up some little notebooks in the reduced basket in the local chemist last year, I wish I'd taken a photo of the original, it already had a little fold over cover in a matchbook style with a nice strong magnet fastening.

I just felt that by covering it would make it look nicer and slightly more classy that the black and white polka dots it came with.

Now, I don't know about you but I love to look round the Pound shop, a while back this hair accessory  caught my eye, the jeweled flowers are in fact rather lovely but I can't imagine that the flimsy comb that it came on would ever be strong enough to hold it in anyone's hair.

The Kraft card looks good with the black embossed card, I can't remember what I used to highlight the embossing, it may have been a gold ink pad or some gilding cream, I did make it a couple of months ago so I've forgotten.

I'm using this notebook for the following challenges:-
WLTC, Mixed media,
Altered Eclectics, Mixed media,
RCS, Mixed Media.

Eight

I thought I'd share another card from a few weeks back designed and cut using the ScanNcut. I'd originally planned on making a football card as the recipient is a keen player, my ideas didn't work but as I'd got black and white cardstock on my bench I decided to just go with it. The embossing and inky stitching add a little interest.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
TTCRD, Anything goes,
TT262, For a child,
BZ.September, Teens and tweens,
CYP279, Anything goes,
RFC281, Cards with numbers.

Pick A Colour, Any Colour!

There's another colour challenge this month at Lavinia,
this one's an easy one,

If you would like to be in with a chance of winning the £40 Lavinia voucher prize, all you need to do is ink up your Lavinia stamps and enter, you don't even need to have a blog as email entries are accepted.

I really love my latest Lavinia stamps, for my rabbit card, the green layer was created using the
oh so gorgeous "Ivy border"
because my cardstock is textured, the detailing is subtle but take it from me, it's a stunner!
To add my greeting I thought it would be fun to make a sign post, to create this I inked just the stem of "Zen leaf" and hand trimmed my computer generated words, doodling around the edges and placing them using glue and foam dots.

I used the Zen butterfly for this card, inking my stamp with brown for a more subtle look, colouring with a selections of Copics and adding stickles to the wings and glossy accents to the body. the background is randomly stamped again with the script and very faintly with the Stone texture.

I used Guilding flakes on doublesided tape around the edges of my image.

My final card shows off the Ivy Border more clearly, stamped onto a pink frame created with the ScanNcut.

I added colour and sequins to the butterfly on the

I also decided to add some inky stitching to define my butterfly.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
GCC16, Butterflies,
CAGI, Distress it,
TCCB, Number's up,
ITP70, Wings.

Fancy A Treasure Hunt?

As National Scrapbooking Day is almost here,
 are challenging you today.
The third of the challenges is a treasure hunt.
We would love it if you joined in with the fun!

You need to use a project that's still in it's packaging, an office supply, something gold and some cork.

My first ever Bind it all project!

I hadn't got any cork embellishments so I took my craft knife to a cork to make the centre of my flower.

The pages are Kraft envelopes, folded and covered with DP.
It's all ready to add photos and embelishments!

I need to do this sort of thing more often!

It's amazing how many bits and pieces you can use up.

Mini books make excellent gifts too!

I'm using this mini book  for the following challenges:-

It Clearly Says Birthday!

I can't say that I was over the moon with this card,
I didn't think it looked so bad but then it's like the camera really doesn't lie, it looks a bit off balance now that I can see it here.

Well maybe not off balance but a little bit.... well, hanging there. It's too late to worry about it now as my son gave it to the recipient last week but if I ever decide to make another, I will sit the flower slightly lower.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
OSAAT219, Anything goes with a die,
CC19, Use acetate.

so circles will do nicely thank you very much ;)

The image that I have used is called "Hooter Framed" By Dillybeans, one of the sponsors for this challenge. Please check out the challenge blog for full details of all of the sponsors this time.

The image actually has a fab doodled frame but unfortunately, I didn't think it through properly when I chose this image for the theme, the frame is actually square. I just fussy cut all of the flowers from the frame to add to my design instead.

18 Shield

I thought I'd make a different style of shaped card today using the Brother Scan N Cut. Instead of the
usual number card that I make,
I made a shield shaped card with the use of the weld button.

also welded a scroll to the bottom of the inside in order to make it stand up .

A bit of embossing, some inky stitching and some distress inks, some welded numbers plus an 8 and some foam pads complete my card.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Fitztown 42, Anything goes,
TTPH48, No right angles,
PCC13, Anything goes.

Book, Bath And Bed!

Ages ago I dropped the book I was reading in the bath, I'm sure I'm not the only person to have ever done this but you know what us crafters are like, we can't throw anything. Luckily the quick dunk it received didn't ruin it completely, it just fell into sections and only the cover and a few pages from the front and back had to be disposed of. I've used some pages before to make flowers from and cut the odd word from it to add to collaged cards.

Anyway, this week's theme at Less is More had me flicking through what was left and finding suitable words to punch hearts from. The fragile pages needed to be stuck to copy paper to be strong enough not to get stuck in the punch.
Here's what I came up with.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
LIM178, Recycle.
