Last Of The Christmas Cards.

I do hope that you all had a lovely Christmas, ours was eventful one way or another but it's been lovely to slow down and spend time with the family. I've just been sitting and looking back over my files at cards that I've made but still haven't got around to showing. This one's another that I did for Karen's craft taster night back at the beginning of November, it proved to be popular, it was lovely to inspire other crafters.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
ACR, Sparkle,
BS74, Winter,
Craftitude 55, Anything goes Sparkle,
Crafty Hands 4, Winter,
MIM171, Anything goes.

Doubling Up

I was lucky enough to find a little time to craft today so thought I'd add to my Christmas card pile.

I picked up this Nitwits snowman in a
magazine giveaway set.

Thought it would look perfect with a masked corner and a sprinkling of Glamour dust and added shading with Polychromos.

I just double stamped his scarf, also cutting between the two ends and adding a tiny foam dot. I liked it so much that I made a second one.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
LIM140, WOW Christmas,
Craftitude 50, Beginning with S,

What A Lovely Weekend.

I've had a lovely weekend, on Saturday I went to
"Begonia Crafts"
first ever crop. It was great to catch up with some old friends, make some new ones and spend the day crafting. Then yesterday we celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary, I say celebrate, well, we don't actually bother too much, but we acknowledged the day, maybe we will do the celebrating bit next year lol!

Anyway, I made a few Christmas cards, this one using a Nitwits magazine giveaway stamp from last year.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Merry Christmas! (nearly)

The lovely Karen has been making these cards for weeks and after attending one of her classes I just had to treat myself to the Sizzix Dies and make some more!

I just love how they fold.

And to be honest, once you get the hang of them they are so easy to make.

I've even made one for a wedding card which I can't share till after the event.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
Cardmania 10, Snowflakes,
KD151, Christmas,
MIM, Anything goes,
TSG187, Last minute Christmas.

A Couple Of Christmas Quickies

It's no secret that I'm more disorganised than usual this year so when I find a quick design I make cards in multiples.

The image is a Nitwits from a magazine giveaway a while back. I discovered a quick way to cut out the stamped layers meaning that you only cut out the three edges  and by starting at the bottom section of the tree and working my way up  each time you cover up the rough cut edge with the next section! Ok, you probably know that but for me it was a revelation and I was a bit excited by it.

I even used my green ink pad and green twine for the first time.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
CIP, Merry Christmas,
DVC47, Christmas,
GL, Christmas,
JS, Christmas,
QC26, Christmas,
TPP126, CAS.

Just realised I need to make 2 more cards! oops, looks like am early start for me then.

Scrapbook Sisters 28

Happy Wednesday! the sun has certainly started to put in an appearance this week so with that in mind I thought I'd add one to my DT card for this weeks challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. The theme for the latest challenge is "Anything Goes", so come on,excel yourself, show us what you've got!I thought I'd make an easel card and use some of the remains from the Nitwit's topper sheet. Now,I couldn't make up my mind what sort of greeting to add,I wanted something a little witty,I was thinking along the lines of,"Some Bunny Loves You" or "You Make Me So Very Hoppy",any ideas? answers on the back of a sealed envelope please lol! The card isn't for an anniversary or anything, just one to give to Karen to put in the shop hopefully to inspire someone to try out these brilliant press out A4 topper sheets.I used my circle Nestabilities to create the hills and the sunshine. The row of carrots are placed below the rabbits using a double thickness of foam tape, the flowers serve as the stopper on the easel placed with foam dots.

I'll be back later in the day with another card.

Card Challenge 25

It's week 25 at Scrapbook Sisters Card challenge and the theme is "Spring" What a great excuse to bust out some bright and cheery colours!

I just used a selection of card stock, some embossing folders.one Prima flower and the sentiment from A Nitwits Card topper die cut sheet.
I also used a ball tool and a foam mat to press in some shape to my nestie Scalloped circle die cut.
It feels like a bit of a cheat really as it didn't take me ages to make but I'm happy with how it turned out :)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you join us in the challenge,

Just Around The Corner.

It's nice to see you today,I don't know about you but I am so looking forward to spring,it can't be far away surely, the days are growing longer so that's got to be a good sign. This is another card using Nitwits Spring Whimsy A4 Topper sheet,I'm enjoying playing with these pretty images and a word of warning,I'm also a little addicted to this pink gingham paper,I've still a couple of cards to share with you this week using it,I've got to get it out of my system so bare with me!

I decided to cut an aperture into my card and then frame it using my nestability scalloped circle with the middle cut out from it.

I love the die cut "fake" button, looks very realistic,I just added a little stickles to the centres of the flowers.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Bunny Zoe's 9,Spring flowers,

Nitwit!

This is the first of the cards I've made using another of the Nitwits Topper sheets, I stamped a background of hearts using a pale pink chalk eye.

I used a simple layout, but sometimes that's just all you need. I used good old Martha Stewart to punch my border, keeping the tiny punched daisies and gluing them back onto the border at a different angle and adding a spot of stickles,I gives a nice look as the flowers have to take on dimension.I also punched a circle from the gingham, shaped it and used a thick glue dot to stick it over the centre of my button.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
2 Sisters 26, Hearts,
CES23,Cute and cuddly,
C4C74,Hearts,
ECP31,Love,
SS&D,Love is in the air,
Frosted Designs,Use the word Love,
Fairy Knoll,Hearts,
Rainbow Ladys 139,It's all about love.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, thanks for stopping by,

My Valentine

It's week 22 at Scrapbook Sisters and it's time to make cards for "My Valentine" well not mine, that would be strange but you get what I mean.
A real simple card from me this week,I got myself in a bit of a panic when I realised I'd forgotten to make my DT card. What a result though,I still had several images left on the Nitwits topper sheet,(you can check out the other cards made from the sheet on my last 2 posts.) Honestly at only £1.66 a sheet, there's loads of creative possibilities,I mean,I've made 3 cards already and there's still more images to play with, they are fab for a quick card when you've no time to colour.

The flourishes are a revolution die,cut on the Cuttlebug and the sentiment is computer generated.

Hope you join in with the challenge this week,

p.s For some reason I'm having troubles linking to theToppers,I'll go back to it and add them later J.x

Hanging Around Ewe

I've tried again to get some clear photos of this cheeky little card I made using the "Nitwit Toppers" I thought it would be a fun idea to have the little lamb swinging like he's hopping around in the meadow. It looks really cute in real life but I just couldn't quite capture it on camera. I made a little scalloped Nestie card but then cut another scalloped circle of the same size which I scored to make almost an easel in reverse card. Before gluing the back circle,I ran the scalloped card through the Cuttlebug again, placing a smaller die over the front panel of the card making an aperture. I then taped some invisible thread to the reverse of the lamb and taped it in place centrally swinging from the top of the aperture before gluing on the scored back panel.
I hope that you can see what I mean as I've taken loads of photos so that you can get the gist of it. I cut some other circles adding a pretty pearly paper on which to write

I finished the bottom edge with a fake button from the same topper sheet and a bow, this also acts as a stop for the easel.

I added ribbon and buttons to the centres of the flowers,

and other images and wording from the sheet.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Craft Your Passion 44,Anything goes,
CSCB51,Critters,
Catch The Bug,Anything goes,
Meljens44,Fun folds,

Aren't they fun,you can find them here,I have another couple to show you but the quality of the photos is pants so I'll show you these another day.
