One For A Girl

I'm still getting the requests for 18th birthdays.
I had to make two of them yesterday but have saved the other for tomorrow.

The trouble I have with taking photos in the daytime is that the colours don't show up so well, what looks blue here is in fact more of a lilac or lavender shade.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CATW2, Anything goes,
CC June, Petals and pearls,
MAWTT, Keep it simple,
Scrapbooker phd11, Diecuts,.

Swing In The Breeze With The Southern Girls.

It's time for a new Southern Girls Challenge Theme
and it's a particular favourite of mine.

The gorgeous Melody is by Make It Crafty, one of the great sponsors of this challenge. Please check the challenge blog for full details of all of the sponsors this time.
Her outstretched arms were just begging to  raise up a banner. I have a confession though, the usual hand cut bunting went out of the window as I am now the extremely lucky owner of a new gadget, I used the "Scan n Cut" to cut each of the triangles of paper and to cut out the letters for "Happy" I'm rather pleased with my Polychromos colouring, it's no way perfect but it makes me Happy lol!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CM31, Use a sentiment,
TTPH30, use pencils,
MIM180, Anything goes.

Ribbon Coming Out Of My Ears!

Ok,come on, tell me your secrets......How do you store your ribbons? I thought I'd got a great solution, bought lots of large jars and hoped they'd look amazing filled with them, I can see the future lol! lots of knotted ribbons!  Anyone got any great ideas??? and what can I do with all these jars? Any advice gratefully received.
So by now you've probably guessed, I've still not got any crafting done so will share another layout that I did a while back. I took this photo trying to get the amazing waterfall in as there are lots of statues of divers within it, somehow I only captured the one so had to get a bit clever with cropping my photo, not sure it's worked but hey ho!

I'm using this layout for the following challenges:-

Southern Girls,Challenge 18

Hi,nice to see you thismorning. The challenge this time at Southern Girls is "Let's hear it for the girls" for my DT card I chose the cute image" Whatcha' doin?" by Tiddly inks who are one of the sponsors for this challenge along with Sassy Studio Design and Joanna Sheen. I Used Copics to colour her,cut her out then once I'd cut the aperture I placed her between the card base and DP adding a pop dot under the bow where it met the card front.

I cut the aperture from my card using my Nestability circles, only placing the top cutting mat up to the point that I wanted to cut to, if you've never tried this you can check out this tutorial which explains what I mean. The papers are from the 12x12 paper pad "Spring Feast by First Edition Paper" these are lovely and glittery! I added some scrummie little gems to each scallop of the frame.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-My Mum's Craft Shop 4,Cute and girly,Paper Play 18,Show us your style, TLT26,Dotty, By The Cute And Girly May,Anything goes, Pear Tree Designs 47,Free for all, Scrappy Frogs,Anything goes, Crafts For Eternity 17,Anything goes,

Card Challenge 32

Another Wednesday and another Card challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. The challenge this week is "buttons" that's an easy one for everyone, everyone likes to use buttons don't they? I thought I'd fish out some long forgotten Quickutz dies and cut out some flowers and stems and then use some lovely buttons for the flower centres. I used my Martha Stewart border punch on some offcuts of paper and added some fake stitching to the centre panel.
I then threaded two buttons together and used the thread to tie across the pinched ribbon to form a bow then wrapped the chord around the front panel of the card.

I decorated the inside of my card to match the card front.

Now,I do hope that you join us in this weeks challenge,I can certainly think of one of my blogging buddies who's sure to enter the challenge, like me,she has a bit of a "thing" about buttons,I believe she even has more than I have. (Yes Nancy,I'm talking about you ;) )

Thanks for stopping by,

catch you later,

Happy Birthday Mum!

I'm so glad that you've called by to witness a MAJOR achievement for me :) I know that for most of you lovely bloggers that this is a simple task but for me it is HUGE!!!!
I've cut the excess off from the edge of my photo using paint! lol,if anyone asks me how I did it I have absolutely no idea but I did it,even my son said "Well done mum,I'm really proud of you!"
I'm doing a major happy dance :) Maybe I can start posting scrapbook layouts more often.

(Please ignore the rectangle in the corner, just put your thumb over it as you read)
Anyway, it was my Mum's 83rd birthday today so I thought that in honour of the occasion that I'd do something different for a change and enter my very first Scrapbooking Challenge, I looked for a photo of just my mum but ended up with a lovely photo of my mum and dad when they were first "Courting".
I know that I'm on the card design team for Scrapbook Sisters but I'm not too talented when it comes to scrapbooking so I'm hoping that Karen and Julie will humour me and let me enter the New Monthly Scrapbook Challenge, the theme for the March challenge is "Framed". I used a selection of DP's from K&Co's Poppyseed 12x12 paper pack, used my Martha Stewart border punch to create a frame around my paper and dug out some Sizzix dies to create the flower and flourish embellie and Sizzix Sunset Alphabet for the title.

I think that the photo was taken at Margate's Dream Land though I'm not 100% sure, must check with mum before I add any journal ling to the rear of the layout.

So here goes,I'm entering this layout for the following challenges:-
Scrapbook Sisters,Framed,
Crafts and Me 27,Anything goes,
Anything Goes Challenge,Make your own embellishment,
Tuesday Throwdown 41,Anything but a card,
Make It Monday 29,Inspirational,
Sugar Creek Hollow,Anything goes.

Scrapbook Sisters Week 27.

Can You believe that it's Wednesday already! Time for another Card Challenge and week 27 at Scrapbook Sisters has the theme Easter Flowers. Now,normally I'd go for my old faithful when it comes to Easter cards and use my lovely Tulip stamp,(if you take a look at last years card, excuse the photo, what a difference a year of blogging has made :)
This year though,I thought I'd have a go at using the beautiful digi by Gayle Bond,it is due to be released any day now and is available exclusively at Scrapbook Sisters. I coloured it using Copics and cut the cross out and used pop dots to mount the circle frame and then the image. I must admit it took me a while to decide on the layout of the card but once I decided to cut the cross out instead of leaving it as the rectangular shape I originally had planed, the rest fell in to place.

It would be lovely if you joined in with this weeks card challenge, there's also now a monthly Scrapbook Challenge that's started if you fancy giving it a go.
Thanks for stopping by today,

Butterfly Daydreams.

Nice to see you again this evening. Just a quick post sharing a card I made using one of the stamps I received as blog candy from the lovely Brenda a couple of weeks ago. Brenda has some amazing blog candy this month too, check out my side bar for a link to it. Do go and call by and leave Brenda some love, she is unable to craft at the moment due to illnes, she makes some amazing cards and is Queen of the Speedball!

I also recieved amongst my goodies some lustre rub ons,I'd never used these before but they've given a lovely pearly sheen to the paper pieced butterfly and flowers.

I decorated the inside of the card to match the front.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Nitwit!

This is the first of the cards I've made using another of the Nitwits Topper sheets, I stamped a background of hearts using a pale pink chalk eye.

I used a simple layout, but sometimes that's just all you need. I used good old Martha Stewart to punch my border, keeping the tiny punched daisies and gluing them back onto the border at a different angle and adding a spot of stickles,I gives a nice look as the flowers have to take on dimension.I also punched a circle from the gingham, shaped it and used a thick glue dot to stick it over the centre of my button.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
2 Sisters 26, Hearts,
CES23,Cute and cuddly,
C4C74,Hearts,
ECP31,Love,
SS&D,Love is in the air,
Frosted Designs,Use the word Love,
Fairy Knoll,Hearts,
Rainbow Ladys 139,It's all about love.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, thanks for stopping by,

Birthday Box

Thought I'd share with you today the gift box that I made for a party my youngest is going to. It isn't for a close friend of hers so we really didn't know what to get for the birthday girl so the box holds a little birthday kit :- a disposable camera a small birthday photo album and a box of Maltesers.

I should have photographed the inside of the box,I'm really not sure why I didn't think of it.

The box lid and base were each made from a piece of A4 card,I then used another piece of A4 cut into strips around the inside of the box to give it more height and for the lid to sit onto.

Before assembling the lid I did something I will never ever do again, I abused my Martha Stewart punch by using it around the edges of the card. It does look pretty stunning but I could hear her grown with every cut! The flourishes were cut from the same paper as the edge strip using a large sizzix die,I then shaped it using the edge of a scoring bone. The flower was made in the same way as on this post.
I am using the box for the following challenges:-
One Stop Craft Challenge 82. Swirls and pearls, Swirly flourishes and pearl flower centre.
Paper Garden Projects, Fourth Friday,Fun Challenge, Something girlie.
I really enjoyed making this project, couldn't do it without my faithful old Fiskars cutter/scorer.
Hope everyone has had a good Bank Holiday, thanks for stopping by,

Weekend Starts Here!

It's been a bit of a busy week for me,I would love to stay home and make cards all day but alas,I need to work to feed my card making addiction! Still next week is a different matter,it's half term so may just spend some of it doing what I love to do!

I made this little card for my eldest daughter's friend, it was one of those cards that just happened an easy peasy one too. The lovely butterfly is from Suzy 2 set of stamps by Marij Rahder,I really must get around to playing with some of the other images in this set, they are gorgeous, will make that my challenge for next week maybe. I'm going to use this card for several challenges:-
Y.N.S. Challenge17 to use a border punch,I used my Martha Stewart,
Stamp Something Challenge where you had to follow a birthday recipe.
The Crafty Pad Challenge 72, over the edge,
Flutter by Wednesday 111, to use a butterfly in the design,
A Spoon Full Of Sugar challenge 105, Celebration and
Allsorts Challenge week 53, To use a tag in the design.
My word, that's the most challenges that I have ever entered with one card but then I have to make up for going almost a week without entering one.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my little blog,
enjoy the weekend,
Julie.x
