A New Theme For The Ladybugs!

Morning!!!!!!
It's Tams turn to host the new challenge today and the theme that she's chosen is

The Ladybugs are all using
I thought I'd use him in a different way, just use his arms.
That's the great thing about Digi's, I just sized my images really large, reversing one of them. Using word it's easy to manipulate the image, hanging it over the edge of the page so that only the arms are shown on the card to print out.
I created a gatefold card, using a square nestability to remove  a section from each side.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

OSAAT, Digi,
PIO23, Use patterned paper,
TCP, Men,
TCCB201, Crop it.

Before you go, take a look at what's coming up in two weeks time! More ladybug excitement!

Pintrest To The Rescue

I have to admit that I wasn't going to share this card as it's not an original but short on time and stuck for an idea I saw this stunning creation  on Pintrest. Lucky for me I found that there's also a guitar template on the Scan N Cut, day saved!

What An Odd Angle

It's my brother's birthday tomorrow and usually I make his card well in advance of Christmas so that there's no panic, it also means that I can put it in with his Christmas goodies so I know it won't get delayed in the post. This year however, I forgot but miraculously I came up with an idea for a simple one layer card that turned out better than I imagined. I just poked a brad through the card to act as a nail, stamped the "Happy Birthday" then placed a piece of copy paper with a narrow rectangle cut out, over the words so that after I'd used distress inks then removed the mask it looked like a sign. I then just used a fine marker pen to add the "string" to hang it from the nail. I then used the same technique to hang the letters from the sign. After I'd finished I thought that the brown marker looked a bit too strong so used a white gel pen to dot onto the line which then made it look softer and a bit like twine. A pierced edge with a pattern maker tool completes the look, oh,except from a thin outline of Copic to add dimension/shadow to the edges.
Sorry for the odd angle of the photo, not sure what happened there.

Hardly A Harley!

I just love this image, I haven't coloured him up in a while though as I've already used him for most of my Bike Riding family. However, when talking to our neighbour my husband discovered that it's his birthday today and as he rides a rather lovely Motorbike I thought it was a perfect excuse to ink my Marij Rahder stamp up again!
Quite a straight forward card, just a bit of layering up of some papers that I've had squirrelled away for years ,a tag, a brad, some string, some hemp and some inky stitching, card complete.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CFASCB29, Men,
Crafts And Me 89, Anything goes,
MMCS62, About the boys,
RCC58, Heavy metal,
Try It On Tuesday, Anything goes,

Totally Ladybug Tuesday

It's Tams "Big Birthday" challenge theme this fortnight at Totally Ladybug Tuesday and as a special treat Kerry  has given us a New Release image "Beer Belly Man" isn't he fun! I can't believe that Kerry's practically giving him away at only £1.50!  I aim on giving him a Hawaiian shirt next time I use him but it wouldn't have suited the recipient this time lol!

I flipped the image before printing him out, coloured him with Copics and fussy cut him out. I added some glossy accents to his pint and gave him a birthday badge using some peel off numbers and a domed sticker.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Here Come The Boys 28, Anything goes,
OSAAT116, Use a digi,
Little Claires 21, Male,
Craftroom Challenge, Birthday,

Star Male.

Here I go again, removing bits from my cards lol, it's quite addictive! I find myself planning entries for the LIM challenge when I'm desperately trying to sleep. This card however happened when I got cross that the planned card wasn't going right, spat the dummy and started throwing bits away and piling up my offcuts,  it's surprising what a black strip of card and a green star can spark off.

So I layered up my card, used an long forgotten Anita's stamp and Bamboo Momento, a large sentiment which I stamped in black. I cut a green star using my Xcut nesting and removed the centre with a smaller star in the set then removed a star from the black strip which happened to be a tiny bit smaller than the Xcut die (still with me?) this gave the nice black frame to my green star. I then just remove a small circle from my card front making it easier to place the star in the correct place. You can see that I placed a green star on the inside of my card to mask the circular cut. I thought it would be in keeping to add a star to write on.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
TTT26,Text Me,
Truly Scrumptious 72,Something forgotten,
TSB24, Die cuts,
LIM 51 Theme.
Off top pop this card in the post, why do I always leave making cards to the last minute.

Nearly 1000!!!

Had to post tonight,I so wanted to get 1000 visitors before bedtime! My little Nephew will be 25 this week so I knocked up this little card for this occasion using another of my rather lovely stamps by Marij Rahder,I so love this chap, don't you think he looks Welsh!!! don't ask me why but I could hear his accent as I placed him on the card.! A little more practice is needed I think on the colouring of Motorbikes! As I have quite a few bike mad Nephews,I'm sure this will happen before long!
.

I'm going to use this card for A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge No 103 which is a recipe for a card to include 3 papers and 3 buttons. Also the Allsorts Challenge Week 52 which is for a card for a birthday. I think this short post will have to do me for tonight as my stash is rather spread out and I've a few other little jobs that need to be done before I can go to bed tonight,it's a hard life, lol!

Missed again?

Seems to be the story with me and challenges lol.I made this card for the CPS161 challenge, hadn't noticed that it had finished:( Never mind,it helped me to get another of those male cards made!

Sorry for the very odd angles on these photos,if anyone can give me any tips on how to photograph mirricard I'd be most appreciative I didn't want to scare you all with my reflection!

It's so hard to get the silver to show up too.Anyway,I followed the sketch, used a cuttlebug embossing folder to create the silver section and used the sizzix "Alpha Bubbles" through the cuttlebug to create the name. Tried altering the colour of my peel off with my black Copic,it worked but took a lot longer to dry than a permanent marker does, must have a root through my stash to locate one!
Will be back later to post the other card for a challenge I made yesterday, don't want to miss another deadline!
Have a great day,
Julie x
P.S.Great news, just checked again and I think I've made the deadline!!!
