It's time for a new theme at Scrapbook Sister's card challenge, this fortnight it is

One Stamp

What an amazing amount of entries there was last week for the Anything goes challenge at Scrapbook Sisters! I'm sure that this week's theme will be just as popular!

So for my DT card I used my lovely LOTV stamp and just to highlight that it was for a Birthday, I added a tiny calendar with my friend's birthday date on it.The colour theme initially was inspired by the tag on one of my new summer T shirts, the twisted threads are just so scrummy, I need to treat myself to something else in the range as there's some different threads on some of them lol! they are scrummy though, thank you M&S! Luckily I found the perfect colour match in my Polka dot papers. Where the threads were tied they ended up with a gorgeous tassel of the mixed colours, I couldn't bring myself to hide them so instead used them in the centre of my bloom with the addition of a button. The seam binding was coloured with Copics to match the papers.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Cupcake 199, Bright as a button,
Fashionista, Winged things,
MG, Bright colours,
DVC35, Things with wings,
Anything goes, Birthday, polka dots,

Thanks for stopping by,
enjoy the rest of your day,

Anything Goes.

It's Wednesday and time for a new challenge theme at Scrapbook Sisters.

I'm not sure what you'd call this kind of card, it's very different for me but I so enjoyed making it.

Apart from the dragon fly, all of the images are from free clip art from Graphics Fairy, I just fussy cut them out, slightly shaped them and distressed them using TH. ink pads. I added plasterers  Scrim tape to the right side of the card front, embossed and distressed a tag and got out my stapler to add the lace and ribbon. I used a pattern makers tool to pierce 2 rows of holes down the edge and placed all of the elements including the handmade flower using pinflair gel.

One of those cheap date stamps was perfect to add the recipients birthday to the papers. I am so going to make more cards in this style, I love it!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Frilly And Funky, Texture,
Papercraft Star, Embossing,
PTT74, Anything goes,
Crafty Cardmakers 71, Create flowers,
Incy Wincy, Anything goes,
Make it Monday Kraft, Anything goes,
Pile It On 26, Make your own embellishment,

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend!

The theme at Scrapbook Sisters this week is
This can be the shape or gems, I chose to use both for my DT card.
I cut the shapes from glitter film and a long neglected diamond Quickutz die. I then punched some flowers and added Swarovski Crystals to their centres. I stamped the sentiment and used an ultra thin strip of pink bazil which I cut into pieces to underline and not cover the words, adding the tiniest of crystals to one end. A light brush of a pink chalk eye completes the card.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Papertake Weekly, Bingo,horizontal centre,
LIM72, Shiny.

Hang Out The Flags!

The theme this week at Scrapbook Sisters is

I coloured up a Pure Innocent Digi image, fussy cutting it out and replacing the bird (on the original digi) with a stamped Balloon and placing a parcel by the birthday girl's feet. After adding glossy accents I added a glittered peel off number from my long forgotten pile, wish I'd thought to add this prior to adding the gloss as I think it would look better. The Bunting is randomly cut from off cuts of bazzil, edges are inked, stitching drawn on and letters stamped to make the birthday girl's name.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Sassy Cheryls 119, Birthday Celebration,
Bunny Zoe's 25, Girls, girls, girls,
DMC40, Seeing spots,
Lexi's 67, Happy Birthday,

Red, White And Blue

Morning all, what an amazing long weekend we were treated to for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee!  What a Lady she is!
With the celebrations in mind Julie has set the new challenge theme at Scrapbook Sisters as
We sure have seen lots of the colour combination here in the UK with all the Bunting and flags that have been flying!

Now, I have a confession to make, I usually make my DT cards a week in advance but found myself panicking on Monday evening as  I'd got mixed up with my days and as we were going up to London yesterday I had to make a card PDQ so my card is really simple. I also need to appologise for not getting round to comment on the huge amount of entries that there were last week either, I don't know where the week went.

The centre of my flower is actually a button with tiny pearls in the centre covered with glossy accents to hold them in place.

I'm using my card for the following challenges:-
Creative Craft, Red, White and Blue,
CYDA46, Red, White and Blue,
LIM70, Red, White and Blue,
Card Makin Mamas, Punches,

Crafter's Favourite

It's Wednesday and time for a new theme at Scrapbook Sisters, This week it's everyone's favourite,
I thought I'd stray from my usual card making for my DT project.
I've been meaning to have a go at making a circular box for ages, I've never checked out any tutorials so I'm not sure if there's an easier method to do this but I have to say that it was a pretty simple technique that I used so in true crafter fashion I'll share my easy tips. Not the how to make the roses as I'm certain that there are lots of  tutorials out there by talented crafters, not just have a go at it crafters like me.

I cut two circles of card using my Nestabilities, cut two strips of design paper, slightly wider than the depth I was after. I then used  a scalloped border punch along one edge of each strip and used my Fiskars cutter with the scorer attachment to score as close to the scalloped edge as possible. I then folded over the scallops and run a thin thread of glue along each semi circle, I then bent the strip around the circle of card, sticking the scallops underneath (hope this makes sense) if it doesn't I'll have a go at a tutorial to explain it better. I then glued a scalloped circle of the DP. to hide the scallops . When I made the lid to the box I used the same technique but held the lid on the top of the base as I glued each scallop in place to allow it to be a good tight fit. I then just added a scalloped circle and DP circle to the top before gluing the roses into place.

I'm using my project for the following challenges:-
Celebrate The Occasion 64, Anything goes,
Die Cutting Divas 67, Anything goes,
EAC 195, Anything but a card,
JDE6, Anything goes, useTH products (Distress inks),
Paper Cupcakes, 3 in a row,LH vertical line,
Secret Crafter 197, Anything but a card.

Off Centre.

I love the theme for this week's challenge at Scrapbook Sisters, "Off Centre", it gives you something a bit different to think about. I do have to apologise that it's another card with a number on and I won't give out any prizes if you can guess the ages of at least two of my children as they keep asking me to do number cards for their friend's birthdays.
So on to my DT  card:- I  used a repositionable tape to place my paper on my card blank and then used an Xcut  star Die through the cuttlebug to cut an aperture from the card front. I removed the design paper then placed the larger of the nesting dies centrally over the original cut, inking the edges of all cuts before gluing the paper in place. This left a frame of cream card showing. (I hope this makes sense) I then cut my numbers  using the Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook, cutting a 1/4 inch larger in the black to give a funky look when the two layers were placed together using a little Pinflair gel.

I then added another star and button tied with hemp.

The back of the card has another die cut star for the greeting to be added along with some paper off cuts and some inky stitching. The inside of the card is layered so that the black shows through the aperture.

I've reached the conclusion that to cut down on the ever growing pile of off cuts and remnants that I'm going to start making tags as I go and enjoyed layering up a little collage of offcuts under a paper clip ( I did glue them down too!)
I also embossed the black base star.

I'm using the card for the following challenges:-
Crafty Card Makers 67, For the boys,
Creative Monday 7, Anything goes,
Pollycraft 138, Card and tag,
Tammy's Scrapin 9, Die cuts/punches,

And the tag for:-

I am so looking forward to what everyone comes up with!

Ding Dong The Bells Are Gonna Chime

Is this a good enough clue to the theme for this week's challenge at Scrapbook Sisters????? no?
Well just for you then,
the theme for Week 80 is Wedding Card .

I wasn't sure what I was going to do for my DT card but whilst browsing round Paperchase with my youngest I came across the most delicate piece of paper, it was marked as tissue but it reminds me of.... I think it was called Angel Hair paper that I used to use when I first started making cards many moons ago. You use to use a wet paintbrush around the edge before pulling it, giving a delicate rough edge.

Anyway, I'm getting side tracked. The tissue has delicate silver and gold flecks amongst the fibre, beautiful in real life but I'm afraid the photo doesn't do it justice.
I sprayed my card with glue, carefully placed the paper on top and left it to dry for a few minutes before cutting it to size. The hearts I cut on the Cricut using Plantins Schoolbook but this was done a few hours later giving the glue plenty of time to dry, I was chuffed that it worked and so thought I'd push my luck and use an Xcut border punch on it as well to create the scallops.

To my amazement it worked although the punch did groan slightly as the layers were a touch thick together.

I touched the edges of the cuts with a silver ink pad, unfortunately it looks a bit darker in the photo than it actually is.  A stamped sentiment added, some gorgeous bling, card complete.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Lexis 63, Punches and Dies,
Paper Sundaes 116, Anything goes,
MIM85, Anything goes.

Happy crafting!

Everyone's Favourite.

Morning, happy Wednesday!!!!
Can you guess from my start that it's a lovely sunny morning :~D
It's everyone's favourite challenge this week at Scrapbook Sister. The theme is "Anything Goes"

In need of a card for a teenage boy I thought I'd use an old favourite design of mine and make a Tag card for my DT sample.

I used Plantin's Schoolbook to cut the tags and numbers and nesting dies for the "stamp" stapling my greeting to it before placing it using foam pads.

I used lots of ink distressing, some paper string which I unravelled and stapled across the DP and using hemp to tie on a recycled button.

I used  a brown Sharpie to change the colour of my brads and a selection of strings hemp and ribbon to thread through the tag, joining with some tied buttons. I also used a date stamp to add the boys birthday to the inside DP.

I'm using my card for the following challenges:-
Simply Sunday, Favourite project,
Craft Your Passion 105, Shaped cards,
MIM84, Anything goes,
Love To Create 10, Birthday,
PCI22, Natural products,
CCC8, Kraft,
SOS 47, Masculine,

On to today's challenge and my DT card for Scrapbook Sister's where the new Challenge is Man's Birthday.

I  made a frame card, used Echo Park papers around the edge and scraps to hand cut the bunting. I coloured up missed a bit Magnum, teaming him with Garden Bench Delights and used the Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook cartridge to cut the grass.

The sentiment was computer generated and placed between the blades of grass and DAD was cut using Quickutz Moxi Alphabet.

Cards for men 7, Great outdoors,

What an amazing amount of entries there were for the last challenge at Scrapbook Sisters! We are hoping that the same will happen this week, it's another theme that is sure to be popular, Easter! I got my spots out again and inspired by the flower pots around my door step I decided to use a selection of die cuts to form a simple daffodil and potted it a hand cut flower pot. I've a confession though, she won't be receiving it till this evening at class so I'm hoping she doesn't visit my blog today.

Carol loves to use glitter in her crafting so I couldn't make her a card without using some sparkle, not the loose glitter that Carol so likes to share around but glitterfilm which I stuck onto my gold card before cutting it out using Plantin's Schoolbook on the Cricut.

I coloured my gems using Copics to match the card.

Happy Anniversary Carol and Bob!

Hanging On A Thread!

It's time for another challenge at Scrapbook Sisters, I can't believe how the weeks fly by.

The theme for this week is Mother's Day, and as the day is just around the corner it's about time we all started getting prepared. I used some recent magazine giveaway stamps and teamed them up with This & That Papers by Echo Park, using some of the scraps to paper piece the clothes. I used twill over the  the stamped thread and glossy accents to the needles.

Isn't the "stitched with love" sentiment adorable, MUM was cut on the Cricut and I added Stickles, stitching and tiny twill knots.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
