Inking It Up.

I treated myself to this lovely Penny Black Slapstick stamp the other week, really with my Mum in mind as she loves Amaryllis. Anyway, I couldn't wait till my Mum's birthday to use it so needing a card for a crafty friend was a perfect excuse to ink it up and get out the Copics. I can't resist fussy cutting at the mo so with a bit of die cutting, embossing and a touch of ink, the card was complete.

The hard part was trying to get a photo taken that did the card justice. The fancy frame was cut using two dies and using my ball tool to emboss at each cut.

Eye's Down For A Full House!

Morning all,Ladybug Catherine's turn to choose a theme for this fortnight's TLT challenge, think she had a girlie night out on her mind as she chose to give us all a game of bingo!
Appologies that I've not got a copy of the Bingo board, I seemed to miss bits out so just take a look at the TLT blog there's bound to be a complete one there.

There's some great news to go along with the challenge too.
I'm loving this, it means I can make them big and less fiddly to cut out, my eyes aren't as good as they used to be lol!
My image here is "Unwell Nikki", a bargain at only £1.75

I chose the bingo line:- top Left To Bottom Right, that's a die cut, stitching, and lace. I'm hoping Catherine doesn't mind that my stitching is the inky kind.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
C4E3, Anything goes,
Bearly Mine 54, Add a sentiment,
DT179, Say it with flowers/digi,

Off Cuts And Paper Squares.

It seems like I've spent the last couple of days making a card, you know how it is at times, you keep cutting shapes, trying out different, shapes, colours,sizes....... before you know it, you can't find any dies as they are hidden under a huge pile of leftovers.
Anyway, this is what I came up with using up a lot of the pile, even the butterflies were ready stamped and coloured, part of a one layer experiment that went a bit wrong, they looked rubbish on the other card but how fab they look now they've been given their wings :) The numbers were cut using offcuts and Plantins Schoolbook.
It was one of the quickest cards I've made in a while, the most time consuming bit was removing the little squares from the backs of  the foam pads. (don't those pesky things turn up everywhere lol!)

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

4 Crafty Chicks, Leaves,
Delightful Challenges, Distressed,
In The Pink 4, Embossing,

CFAS36, Wings,

Simply Quick Anniversary Card

I can't believe how quick the weekend has flown by, is it just me or do you too find that the older you get, the faster the days fly past? I find it hard to believe that a year ago yesterday my lovely friend was married, in fact I only just remembered in time so had to make a super quick anniversary card.
I know I used the same shape for the card in my last post but I just love this set of Xcut dies, they make a lovely small card blank. I'm sure you can see what else was involved here, just a bit of embossing, inking, punching and a little scrim. I thought that a sentiment on the front just wasn't needed so just stamped Happy Anniversary on the inside instead.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
C4E3, Anything goes,
DVC41, Celebration,
NMWC2, Diecuts and punches,
Squirrel And Fox 26, Anything goes,
Di's Digis, 2 or more die cuts/punches.

Bling Up The Body.

When I have the time, I love to do a bit of bloghopping, checking out what other crafters get up to and picking up ideas to try out in your own crafting.

When I used my New Cheery Lynn die for the first time, I just knew that it would look perfect with some fussy cut butterflies with gem topped bodies, something I've seen done on many other blogs but haven't really done much of myself .

I did some paper piercing and also dusted off my ribbler,

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Get Your Bling On

It's another great theme at Southern Girls Challenge this fortnight,
"Get Your Bling On!"

Well, I have to say that I'm a tad disappointed that my bling doesn't show up too well, the background is the blingiest, sparkliest glittery vellum ever but despite trying numerous photos, this one's the best.
Vase of Roses digi image is by Delicious Doodles, one of this fortnight's sponsors, check out the challenge blog for full details of all the sponsors this time. The image is stunning and to be honest I think I shouldn't have bothered colouring it as it looks stunning just as it is, I did however use the Copics along with a bit of paperpiecing of the vase, I couldn't resist it as I think the paper looks like crackle glazed pottery.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
GGWSC, Take 3,glitter,ribbon,punch,
TT115, Gems,
MIM106, Anything goes.

The overall winner of the hop will receive all 6 images and there will be 5 winners of 1 image each. Of course there will be the usual Challenge Winner and Winner using an LCI image and Top 3.

christmas cupcakes

So it all started with Lisa setting us a photo challenge, then Kerry decided it was about time to treat us all to some new Christmas digis, There are 6 images in the set which is called Snowman Delight and they are £1.75 each.

So, I'm the first stop on the hop, and the image that Kerry gave me to get crafty with is
"Mr and Mrs Delight"

I'm really into paper piecing my images at the mo so had a bit of a rummage in my scrap drawer and found a piece of double sided paper, I used one side for Mr and the other side for Mrs, I even found a little patterned corner on the paper that I used for the parcels. If you don't know how to paper piece a digi, it's really easy, if enough people are interested perhaps we could sort out a tutorial, just mention it in your comment.

I fussy cut the image out, and made a centre stepped card, tearing some white card to make the snowy hills, I embossed some of the white and also added some stickles for a bit of sparkle. I couldn't decide on where to stamp my sentiment then came up with the idea of stamping Merry Christmas onto a scrap of card then roughly drew a sign post around it. I then used the same colour Copics that I used for the fence to colour it before cutting it out and placing it between the layers of torn paper snow. The snow on the top of the sign is a tiny strip of torn copier paper, simply glued to the top edge.
You can find the full details of the hop Here

The next stop on the hop is Kath, one of the three guest designers joining is for some blog hopping fun.

A Little Something.

Ok, I'm at it again, making apologies for a quick post.

I thought I'd share a couple of the gift wallets that I made for the lovely ladies at Scrapbook Sisters as the closed their doors for the last time a fortnight ago.

I thought I'd taken photos of them all but unfortunately, in my hurry to deliver them I only took photos of the inside of the other two that I made for Julie and Barbara so I'll just share the ones I made for Karen and Jeannie.

The wallets held packets of Forget-me-knot seeds.

Torn.

I told you yesterday that I needed several cards for this week and after spending longer than I intended on yesterday's card I really needed a quick card for my daughter to give her friend tomorrow.
Now I saw the colour theme for this week's LIM challenge which sparked off the idea of making a quick one layer card. I masked off the side of my card using post it notes and rubbed a pink TH distress ink pad over the area, used a brown momento ink  pad to stamp my butterflies and masked them before stamping a slightly deeper shade of pink Momento flourish. I then added a touch of colour to the butterfly wings using Copics. Once I'd removed the post it notes I felt that something was missing so used a zigzag blade in my trimmer to cut a narrow strip of brown card which I placed along the pink panels.

Now, this card didn't take too long to make, I quite like how it looks but I'm never quite so happy sending one layer cards, I always feel that they're almost, well, less special than other cards that I make, I'd be interested to know how the rest of you feel about them.

I'm using this card for the following challenge,
Less Is More 83, Brown and pink.

One Of Many

I have so many birthday cards needed for this week so although when I started to make this card I had a quick card in mind, it just didn't work out that way.

So before I new it I had a bench covered in snippets and way more layers than I'd ever planned but I have to say that in the end I am rather pleased with the results.

The piece of paper that I've been hoarding for ages is by Crate Paper, can't remember the name though, I'm afraid, I've only the tiniest strip left now :(
The Mo Manning digi was coloured using copics, shaped and added to the card using Pinflair Gel.
I cut the letters out using a Sizzix alphabet  and as I couldn't spare the time to clear my bench to make space for my Cricut I covered one of the chipboard numbers that I used to use only as templates. I stapled the ribbon to the tag and added it to the raised die cut circle.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CCC38, For fellas,
B&B Mo 150, Lots a layers,
My Heart Pieces, Layers,
