A New Release

Billie Bear is back again featuring in the new release.

Kerry has done a brilliant job with this release, I happened to mention in passing that lots of my friends had taken up knitting, even I have picked up my needles after many years,
Kerry came back with the most perfect image,
Here I used it for my children to give to my mum,

I punched some hearts to echo the one on the image and coloured them to match before making them in to bunting.  I added die cut letters, stickles and doodling around the hearts and to frame the image.
I'm really loving using my Polychromo pencils they added depth after colouring with Copics, they even helped add a woolly effect to the knitting.

The theme for this challenge is

"The Kids Are Alright",That's the new challenge theme with Southern Girls for this fortnight.

I searched out my chipboard numbers to use as templates for a change, I love using my Cricut but thought I'd do some cutting out for a change. Seventeen.

These Teenage boys can be tricky to make cards for but with a bit of piercing, inky stitching, die cuts and perfect papers for the job I found this an easy make.

I even used some of the printed tape on the inside for the sentiment.

The piercing gives the illusion of dimension but in reality the card is flat apart from the thinnest of foam pads behind the star which means that there is no need for additional postage charges.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
C4E15, Anything goes,
EE, Birthdays,
HCTB47, No stamps,
KKKK134, Birthday.

Hope you've had a great weekend,

Now For Something A Bit Different

A bit of a different style from me today but I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed playing, masking, inking, stamping and then of course a bit of the almost obligatory bunting.

I ordered my Lavinia stamps at the weekend, after seeing their new challenge blog I decided to challenge myself and try something different. Way back when I started my blog,I began following the lovely
her work inspired me to buy my own Speedball brayer, I've never really mastered it but I love the look but used ink pads and sponges for my card. I thought I'd make this card also as a tribute to B, as she has now reached  four years of blogging and can you believe it, almost 4000 followers. B loves fairies so I thought that this would be rather fitting.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Starring Off Cuts

A quick post to share a card I made for my Nephew. I don't know about you but I often end up with lots of strips of paper remnants, this was a good way to use some of them up. I roughly drew around the star die onto card then glued the strips of paper over it, by trimming them to slightly bigger than the drawn star. Once dry I then cut  and embossed the star, distressed the edges with inks and drew stitches around the edges. The background was embossed and distressed then pierced using a pattern making tool, instead of leaving just the piercing to show, something else was needed so I simply ran my fine liner over the piercing to fake some stitches.

The sentiment is some tape I bought from a local shop, the letters are clear and so the red card shows through from behind.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
DOCB 46, for a boy,
Papertake Weekly, Anything goes,
PTT110, Die cuts,
Here Come The Boys 47, No stamps,
PIO9, Happy Birthday,

Two Halves Make A Whole

I've had a photo on my phone for ages, I have no idea where I  took the photo from but I'd seen a butterfly made up of two halves and placed together looking like it was fluttering off the page. I wish I'd taken a photo from a different angle of mine to show it off better, I might see what I can do tomorrow.
The panel was made by sponging pink and apricot inks together then using a Lavinia stamp and the same two shades and stamping hap hazard onto the panel. The sentiment is from a set, one of my first ever buys by Woodware.
(The artificial light seems to have enhanced the apricot but washed out the pinks)

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
LIM109, Colours,
MIM129, Anything goes.
