Hochanda Samples

If you were watching Hochanda earlier today you would have seen the lovely Amanda demonstrating some of the gorgeous new Lavinia Stamps. Just check out the beautiful Scenescapes that I've used in each of these cards for the backgrounds.

I inked the ground for the first card and then stamped the Woodland Hares, keeping the rest really simple.

I added a lot more stamping to create this card, then added highlights using a white gel pen.

A bi of inking to create the ground then I stamped the script using Oxide ink, before stamping the Hare and Mia.

More inking to the ground for this one, before stamping the Small Reindeer  and hare. I have to say that the Willow is my most used foliage stamp ever, it really frames the focal area and looks just as good growing up as trailing down!

I inked a bit of a hill for this one before stamping Fayllin and the Hare using Versafine ink

Another inked hill then the other Hare from the duo, before stamping Fairy buttercups for him to hide amongst.

I inked the ground again for this one then simply stamped  the small reindeer and the Fairy Fir Tree 2.

If you did happen to miss the show, you can get to watch it here
keep a look out for my sample cards!

Autumn Equinox

The September's  challenge at Lavinia has begun and the theme this time is

didn't see that one coming, did you? Summer breeze would have been preferable but alas, 2017 is racing!

If you fancy being in with the chance of winning £40 to spend on some new stamps, just Ink up your Lavinia stamps and join us in the challenge this month!

Two very similar cards from me this time, in fact the
Oxide ink backgrounds  started off as one piece of card, I just love playing with these beauties, you never know what you're going to end up with when you lay down the colours on your blending mat. Have to say that the new Multifarious card works like a dream with the inks, I can't quite explain what it is but if you try it yourself you'll see the difference it makes. There's only one ink to use on our beautiful fairies and that's Versafine, it picks up every beautiful detail!  I used the following stamps on these two:-
All of these stamps were from the new collection as seen on Hochanda.
I used Wink of stella on the wings to add a beautiful sparkly shimmer

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-

Forgotten Yupo

A few months ago, the talented Tracey Dutton of
Lavinia Stamps called on the design team to help with some samples for an upcoming release, I took photos of my cards, posted them off but forgot to blog them once the stamps went on sale. I used a selection of Alcohol inks on
Yupo paper to create my background then
I used Blending solution to remove a circle of ink where I stamped the Moon then the Tree half.
Forgive me, it has slipped my mind which ink I ended up using to stamp onto the Yupo, I will add it once I remember. I cut an aperture from my card and placed
the yupo scene behind it.
I stamped Fairy Inn and coloured using Copics, I cut this out, shaped it slightly and mounted it onto the
card using foam pads.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CAS Mix Up, August, recipe,
CAC, Mixed media.

Blue And Orange Hues

I can't believe that it's August already, new month and new challenge with Lavinia and the theme this time is

For my first card I used oxide inks to create my background then stamped my focal flower before stamping my favourite Background Script around the edges. I then added liquid pearls and glamour dust.

For the background of my second card, I tapped the edges of my acrylic block with the gorgeous vibrant colour box inks, lightly spritzing the block with water then pressing it onto my card. To blend the colours further I lifted the block, twisted it 180 degrees and pressed it down again. I love the effect it gives. Now, stamping the image took trial and error as I wanted to emboss the Moon Pods but didn't have any blue pigment ink, thank goodness for my Misti, it meant I could stamp the blue then stamp with Versamark before heat embossing in clear.  I used a paintbrush to pick up the remaining ink from the block so that I could add more colour to the pods.
I then used a white gel pen to colour the spots
 before adding stickles.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
Artistic Stamper, Anything goes,
CAS Mix up, August.recipe.

If you fancy winning a £40 voucher to spend on new stamps, join us in the challenge and ink up your

Picture This

I wish I could paint! I can draw if you class drawing Top Cat when I was in my teens. I say draw Top Cat, what I could actually manage to draw was his head, complete with boater hat, that's where my talent ends!
Tracey Dutton of Lavinia stamps makes it possibly for anyone to create something of beauty,  all that you need is a bit of imagination, some inks and Lavinia Stamps.
For this card I inked my background using Oxide inks, masking off each area in turn to create the sky, sea, sand and grass.
I like to create my scene as if I'm sat under a tree, surrounded with foliage.
Here I used the following stamps:-
Bulrushes, I stamped them in green then went over the top using a brown Copic
Creeping Vine, stamped in a selection of green shades and
Willow. At each skyline edge I stamped  Stone texture to signify land along the coastline. I then used a white pen to hint at sun glistening on the foliage and touched the sea with stickles to add shimmer.
If you fancy creating a landscape with your Lavinia stamps, be sure to enter the challenge this month, you could find yourself with £40 to spend on more lovely Lavinia stamps!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Create A Landscape

The new Lavinia challenge has started and the challenge for July is

The good thing about challenges is that they can take you out of your comfort zone and make you try something different from your usual style. I have to say that I haven't created a landscape for quite a while but boy did I enjoy creating this card, I won't leave it so long next time.
I got so carried away inking and stamping, I hope I don't forget to list any of the beautiful stamps that helped me create this scene. I started by ripping my paper to create my mask before inking my sunrise/sunset. (I just couldn't make up my mind which it was.) I then inked my hills with a selection of greens before stamping Creeping Vine, I like to make my scenes look as if I'm viewing them from under trees. Keeping my mask in place I stamped Fir tree repeatedly at different heights, removed my mask then stamped a fabulous tree from Tree Scene. I then stamped lots of Meadow Grass. I stamped the Pheasant, masking and stamping again to add another rung to the fence. I then stamped the Midnight Meandering bunnies
and finally my cute little Snail I added some white gel pen to add a glint of sun to my stamping.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
C4C392 ,Create a scene.

We would love you to ink up your Lavinia stamps and join us in the challenge this time, you could find yourself with £40 to spend on more Lavinia stamps!

Southern Girls Get Stuck!

Just realised that my title sounds like a newspaper headline where they hint at something that actually turns out to have little or nothing to do with the actual story!
You'll have to judge for yourself.

There's a new theme for the Southern Girls,
For this one, team Lou would like to see you use
"Sticky things" on your projects. I chose to use a selection of Washi tape on mine, along with a few sequins.

I chose to use a selection of Washi tape on mine, along with a few sequins, I added some stitching along the thin tapes using my pattern tool, it's hard to see but it adds a little something when you see it up close! The image I used this time is  "So happy" by Ppinky dolls, one of the sponsors this time, she's a little cutie!

Not that the little one looks "So Happy" I have to say though that the idea of being on a swing makes me feel happy, I hope it's making her smile on the inside! I printed the image then added a branch to hang the swing from, I meant to add some doodles knots but forgot I'm afraid, I'm getting forgetful in my old age.

Please check out the challenge blog for full details of all the sponsors this time.

I'm using this card in the following challenges:-
QKR248 Anything goes, faux stitching/quilting,
CTD447, Color throwdown,
CSD, Summer.

Hidden Fairy

Ok, who saw where May went, anyone see it going? How time flies!
So now we find ourselves in June,
new month, new Lavinia challenge theme!
The Theme this month is
Haha, I found this tricky to start with, maybe it's spending so much time with young children, have you seen how they hide? Did you realise that if you cover your eyes that no one can see you?
Anyway, here are my samples for this month.

For my first card, I created my background using
Oxide Inks, I just love how they give you something special to work on! I noticed that the inks had given me almost a pool of light so I utilised this by using a circular aperture to first stamp my wings  then placing Creeping vine to continue the circle feel. I then stamped the Dragon Pods and Fairy Buds to lead the eye down the invisible path painting them with oxides to add colour and adding white gel pen. I inked the landscape flicked on some water then stamped a little Tree just because.

No automatic alt text available.

Onto  my second card I stamped  Eden who is is hiding in the flower bed with her friend Mr Snail, I still find it hard to believe that this perfect little fellow is only £1!
My fussy cut flowers were created using one of the
Zen flowers placed on a Fairy bud stem.

No automatic alt text available.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CCC88, Include an animal,
DDC June, Creatures great and small,
Scrap n challenge, Make your own background.

If you'd like the chance of winning £40 to spend at Lavinia, just join us in this months theme and ink up your

Create Your Own Vision.

It's time for a new Lavinia challenge and the theme for the month of May is

For my card this time I created my background using Distress oxide inks before stamping Fairy House, I then added some interest to my background stamping Creeping vine and Background script before stamping Stones to form a path to follow to reach the houses. I then stamped Spellbound onto my white card using Versafine. I worked out where I wanted my "Vision" to sit then used my scary blade to cut around my fairy so that I could slide my "vision" behind.

About a year ago I bought more than a few lovely hearts and plaques from here and I thought it was about time that I started using some. I had promised some lovely little ladies that I would make them something so knowing how much they love fairies I created these.
I rubbed my oxides onto a mat, sprayed them with water and moved the hearts through the mix. Once dry I stamped onto them. For Ava's I used my very first Lavinia fairy, Luna,  I then stamped the Moon and Stars adding stickles.

For Isla's I stamped Spellbound using Versafine, added Willow to the edges adding Stars and stickles.

For Tegan's I stamped Fairytale, again adding stars, for this one I stamped the edges with Creeping vine adding the obligatory stickles. The names on each heart were created by stamping individual letters onto white card, cutting each one out and inking the edges before gluing each one in place.
Three happy girlies!

I am entering the following challenges:-
Love to Create 9, Mixed media,
HIMCR299, Freestyle,
PDELP170, Anything but a card.
