Quick Card,Quick Post!

I've been wondering what I could make in the way of quick, bulk make cards to fill up my box quickly and to stop me panicking that I haven't made nearly enough cards yet!
This image is by Meljens Designs,it's called Starry Holly and was a freebie from some time back.
Dead simple to colour with the copics, just added a little fake stitching around the edge to compliment the fab ones in the design, matted it onto red mirror card, stamped the greeting, added the image at a jaunty angle and Bob's your Uncle! The greeting is from the Christmas Sentiments set by Woodware and is available along with the mirror card from "Scrapbook Sisters".

I'm entering this card for the following challenges:-
Scrappy Frogs, Merry Christmas,
Ellephantastic 20,Red and green,
Crafty Catz 60,Christmas,
Fairytale Challenge,White,
Sew Many Challenges 34,Digi red and green,

What's Cooking?

My friend's son has just been given an apprenticeship as a chef and asked if I could make her a card to give to him.

I hand cut the tunic and used Woodware's Christmas Dinner clear stamps for the emblem on the front and also the knife, fork and spoon on the insert, the stamp set has a great selection of festive food too. I doctored some peel-offs for the greeting and used some flat backed gems for the buttons.
I'd like to thank the lovely Mina for the blog candy papers that she sent me as the DP included was just perfect for this card.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Allsorts 80,Monochrome,
Stamp Simply 167,Use black,
Hodge Podge Shop 4,Anything goes,
Sassy Studio 48,Monochrome,
I made a few other cards yesterday so at least I know I've got something to show you in the week.

Let It Snow! Week 12

I do hope that this week's Card Challenge at Scrapbook Sister's doesn't sound like an invitation for the real McCoy as this week's theme is "Let It Snow"

Now,this wasn't my original card, the first was a shaker card using one of Gayle's Digi's but unfortunately I completely bodged it at the last minute, 3d glaze on my last piece of acetate resulting in a Snow storm in the dining room as I lost the plot and and emptied snowy white glitter everywhere in a strop! Not a good move,I'm sure I'll be finding traces of snow for the rest of the year!
I resorted to using Karen's set of Forever Friends stamps again, not that I minded as I love using the Copics to colour that fur, think this is my best so far! I've used the "Santa's On His Way" paper pack yet again, teaming it up with some layers of holographic Mirri card.
I did a bit of paper piecing using some remnants from the drawer, added some red Stickles to the berries and used a Fiskars snowflake punch and a Cuttlebug Die to cut and emboss the large snowflake.

The greeting was stamped using a silver ink pad and a stamp from my stash.

Another Christmas card knocked of the list. Why not make one for your box and enter this week's challenge at the same time!

Southern Girls Challenge 6

It's my last Challenge as Guest Designer :( and this weeks Southern Girls challenge is"Your Favourite Colour" Now,I don't really have a favourite colour as such but when I look back over my blog there seems to be a bit of a pattern with most of my cards,I love to use PINK! So when I saw this fabulous image by one of this weeks sponsors "Make it Crafty" I knew that Pink was definitely the way to go! The Mushroom House spoke to me,whispered in my ear ,"Make me into an Easel card" so that is exactly what I did! I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed making this card,I coloured the Digi image using Copics, added a generous sprinkling of glitter to the spots and edges then when it had dried added some more sparkle with a few dobs of stickles.

Then I went a little bit Cricut crazy, cutting grass in different lengths from thin white card stock , then, with the press of a button the grass then came out topped with flowers! I had so much fun with this! then I pressed another button and the grass came out taller! WOW! I'm definitely going to do this again! I coloured the grass and flowers using a selection of Copics.
I used my trusty Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for this, one day I shall buy a different cartridge but for the moment I am still enjoying playing with just this.

From another copy of this printed digi I coloured up just the steps from the house, these I used to create a path up to the house, the last I mounted onto foam pads acting as the stop for the easel. I created a flower also using the Cricut and a pearly button. I'm afraid I can't remember who the design paper at the base is by,these were leftovers from my Scrapbooking class.(This is a scheduled post as I'm at class at the moment!)

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Scrapbook Sisters Challenge 11

Wow what a fantastic number of entries there were over at Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge last week, some amazing cards too! The challenge this week is "The Christmas Tree",another lovely one to help us all tick another card off the "need to make" list.
The Christmas tree stamp was a present from my lovely Sister - In-Law, I love it, though I'm afraid I have no idea who the stamp is by. I stamped it using Momento Bamboo Leaves, green ink pad,it was so easy to colour, just a few flicks of green with the Copics, and some Stickles over the coloured yellow star. I decided to paper piece the pot. I also stamped the tree onto the backing paper then with some clever placing of the scalloped circle the image on the die cut circle met up with that on the paper.

The red scalloped strip was cut using Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The greeting is from Woodware's "Christmas Sentiments" I so love the little Papermania Dew drops, they are easy to colour and match to your project. The papers are from the scrummie A5 paper pack, Forever Friend's "Santa's On His Way".
That's it from me for now,I really hope that you take part in Scrapbook Sister's Week 11 Card Challenge,
Thanks for stopping by,

P.S. If anyone can help me with the origins of the stamp I'd be grateful.x

Forever Friends Part 3

This is the third of the cards that I have made using the Papermania Forever friends stamps and "Santa's on His Way" A5 Paper pack. Now I look at this card I just know that it would have worked better as a square card, might doctor it with my trimmer at a later date. The image had stamped ribbons but there was no way I was going to cut around them so I chopped them off and replaced them with the real thing. I love this little Robin,I perched him on top of my greeting, again I chopped off the fiddly feet (did you hear him scream) and drew them on using my Copic fineliner. I added some red stickles to the berries and just brushed a tiny bit onto the edges of my stamped greeting with is also part of the same set.

If you'd like to see Forever Friends part 1&2,please scroll down to the previous 2 posts.
I'm going to use this card for the following challenges:-

Forever FriendsPart 2.

If you called by earlier, you may have seen the first Forever Friends post,if not you can find it here. This card makes me happy,I stamped my image and cut it out using the Nestie trick but this time,I also left the snow at the bottom of the card. I love how it looks like there's a big moon behind the image.

This time I paper pieced the scarf using Santa's on his Way Paper pack for this and the background. The stamped image is coloured using Copics and I used a little stickles on the snow.

I'm using this for the following challenges:-
Wee Memories 31,Patterned paper,
2 Sisters 13,Christmas,
C4C63,Christmas,
Speedy The Cat 29,Snowflake,

On The Road!

My eldest daughter passed her driving test yesterday, she's over the moon and can't wait till the weekend to go out on the road without the "L plates" I'm really pleased for her though as you can imagine, more than a bit nervous at the thought of her driving on her own.

Here's the card that I made for her using a Bugaboo Friday Freebie. I coloured it with Copics, cut it out and mounted it onto foam pads. The grass was cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge,by selecting the fit to length button and setting the dial to 6" I was able to cut the grass to fit my 14 cm card, I only needed to trim 1 blade of grass off. I coloured some peel off line border to serve as the stems of the Prima flowers and attached these to the grass before gluing this to the sponged road and placing the car.

The centres of the flowers were made using a circle punch and the L plates are some table confetti I've had in my stash for years.

The greeting is an old Midnight Media foam stamp with a little doodling around it.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Catch The Bug,Anything goes,
Cute Card Thursday 138,Anything goes,
Karber 13,Digi with an animal,
Lexis Creations 26,Anything goes,
Fairy Tale Challenge Blog,Everything goes,
CCEE1045,Shop bought flowers,
That's it for me today, can't wait for my daughter to come home to give her the card.

Scrapbook Sisters Challenge 10,

Week 10 at Scrapbook Sister's Card challenge is a really lovely one,"Christmas Colours",now everyone can do this one right? the clock is ticking and it won't be long before December is here and we're all panicking that we still have cards to make,so why not enter the challenge and knock another card off the list!

I decided to make another frame card, this time using one of Gayles Digi's,available only at Scrapbook Sisters. The minimum order restrictions have now been removed from the website so that you are able to purchase the images individually,do take a look as the images are stunning!

I printed out my image twice then used removable Herma to put some DP over the cardigan area and pop it through the printer again so that the image was printed directly onto the red spotty paper.( it's a good idea to mark the card that your printing on before you put it through so that you are sure that the second run through is going to print in the same spot. I put top front on mine just to be sure.) When the paper is printed I just remove it from the cardstock, cut it out and use a copic marker in a similar shade to add depth and shading.I then was able to add this to my coloured image adding my string of lights which I coloured and cut out from the other print out.(Hope this makes sense)

I used my revolution flourish to cut the gold mirri card and added a silver bell to my ribbon bow before attaching this to the front of my card. The greeting is from a Woodware set "Christmas Sentiments"The papers are from the A5 Forever Friends paper pack "Santa's On His Way"

I added some 3D glaze to the lights and the bauble and a touch of stickles to the image.
Everything that I have used for this card is available at "Scrapbook Sister's apart from the bell which came from Paperchase, bargain at £3.75 for 72!
Hope you join us this week, thanks for stopping by,

Hedge Your Bets!

A quick post showing you the card I made this evening. I followed a sketch for this one and boy it made it an easy card to make. The image was a magazine give away a few months ago,the papers are from a My Minds Eye 6x6 pack. The scalloped edge is again using the Plantin Schoolbook, selecting both the scallop and the tall ball button, this gives a hole at the meet of each scallop, who needs Martha Stewart lol! the tiny leaves are from the same cartridge.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Cupcake Craft 116,Sketch,
Party Time Tuesday 20,Anything goes,
Cards for Men 23,Animals,
Craft Your Passion 31,Two of anything,
Stamps Are Us 8,Buttons and bows,

Another Birthday

There's another birthday in our house today so thought I'd share the card that I made for my husband. Yes,I've been on the Cricut again! I love the fact that you can press a button and alter one image in so many ways, this is the certificate on the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge(The only one I have at the moment) By pressing Roly Poly, the rectangular cut becomes a Square cut,I have just discovered that I can also cut it as a frame too!

Colin used to ride a Scooter in his youth and has a longing to revisit this,I'm hoping he doesn't but thought I'd stamp him one instead, the original image is a bit feminine with a heart on the wheel arch so I traced the arch onto another piece of card, cut it out and mounted it onto a foam pad.

The greeting is Jane's script by Woodware, stamped with distress ink.

Obviously the hearts are Cricut's again, love the fact you can make the shape whatever size you like and also flip the image. Forgive me if I'm becoming a Cricut bore but I need to get it out of my system lol! I distressed the edges of the hearts and the certificate and added ink stitching.

I'm going to use this card for the following challenges:-
Wee Memories 30,Birthday,
2 Sisters 12,Birthday,
Bugaboo,Anything goes,
C4C62,Square card,
DDCC90,Clean and simple,
Papertake,Penny for the Guy,
PTT19,Birthday.
That's it from me this evening, remember, there are some great challenges out there,Scrapbook Sister's,Autumn colour challenge and Southern Girls,Transport and travel are two of them, why not give them a go!

A Little More Than A Card

This wasn't what I had in mind when I planned on making a card for my lovely niece. She is a synchronised swimmer and I planned on making her a card using both of the swimmers in the set Suzy 5 by Marij Rahder, but somewhere along the line I thought I'd like to make Megs a book mark using just one of the images. I coloured it using Copics and added a little Stickles, then cut it out. I cut a tag using the Cricut, Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, and cut out the letters in Italics. I used distress inks around the tag, added some gel pen stitches then stuck on the image.

I wasn't sure how I was going to incorporate it into a card but the only way to go was to make a zig-zag fold card.

When I looked at the lovely paper,White Loopy Flowers Flip Flop paper by The Paper Loft I knew exactly what needed to be done. I cut around part of one of the blooms and placed a small piece of acetate to the back of the paper cutting through this the same so that it would be strong enough to hold the book mark in place.

I also cut out the numbers using the same cartridge, hand cut and stamped the bunting and that's it,finished. A fairly simple card to make but looks pretty good me thinks.

Megan loves colour, she's a rainbows and butterflies kind of girl, and is growing into a beautiful young woman with a beautiful nature to match, I hope she has a lovely birthday next week.

I'm going to use this for the following challenges:-
TPC41,Tag it,
AI Factory,It's a garden party,
PRC30,Everything but the kitchen sink,
Crafty Sentiments 42,Make a gift, (the bookmark)
YNS28,Book mark it,
TBD,Anything goes,
PTTC19,Birthday,
Paper Playtime 23,use a clock,ticket or tag,

Southern Girls Challenge 5,Transport

I'm guest Designer at Southern Girl's Challenge Blog this month and this weeks challenge is "Transport". I played around a bit with this Fun Digi Stamp from Digital Delights to make it suit my needs, you can check out the original image Here.

I coloured it using Copics, removed part of the image replacing it with a photo of my Nephew and his best friend,I left the background of the photo as I thought it made it look like view from the back of the bus. I added a steering wheel (the original bus image was left hand drive) and used some stickles and some Dew drops on the lights.

My Nephew is mad on Tortoises so I cut some using a QuicKutz die and added them to an acetate fold down strip to the edge of the crossing.

I sponged a road to the background, masking off areas to leave the white lines. On the base of the card I lined up and raised a white line which serves to stop the back from sliding forward and running over the tortoises lol! The tickets are freebie digi downloads. I coloured up some Peel offs for the Number plate.

I'm going to enter this card for the following challenges:-
Papertake weekly,Penny for the guys,
Paper Sundaes 42,For boys and men,
Paper players 22,Anything goes,
TOSCCB104,Anything goes,
Wee Memories,29,Anything goes,
This is my second post for today so please scroll down for my previous post,

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge Week 9.

Well, another week has flown past and already we are up to Challenge 9 at Scrapbook Sister's Card Challenge. This week the challenge theme is Autumn,my favourite time of year. I just love the gorgeous colours of the trees at the moment.

I decided to make an easel card using a Gayle Bond digi stamp, available exclusively at Scrapbook Sister's the "Seated girl"was just perfect for this. I coloured her using Copics and mounted her on to the folded edge using foam pads.I cut a Scalloped edge using the Cricut and glued one flat to the bottom edge and used foam pads for the middle, bottom one, placing them so that they make a wavy line effect. The greeting is from a set of Papermania clear stamps,I stamped it using Distress inks, cut it free hand and double matted it.

The flat backed self adhesive gems are also papermania and the flowers are a selection of prima flowers.

I think this girl should be called Claudia as she so reminds me of Claudia Winkleman. What do you think of the fur trim to the coat and hat? I so enjoyed playing with the colours,my youngest thinks it looks like Leopard print. I just dotted various colours all over the area then covered them using E00,not blending them,I then put a few drops of blender ink onto a piece of tissue and dabbed it over the area several times, looks great I think.
Hope you join us this week so that I can come visit your blog,

Just A Quick Post

Haven't had much in the way of spare time this last week, don't know why but time seems to have just run away from me. Thought I'd follow a sketch for a change and use the Pink Gem stamp that I'd coloured up at the weekend using Copics. The boots are a bit on the bright side I know but they'd certainly brighten up a dull Autumn day that's for sure. The tiny scalloped strips and the flower were both cut using the Cricut Plantin School Book Cartridge. The flourish is a revolution die.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

The Crafty Pad95,Stitching,
Sketch Saturday 127,Sketch,

Bunny Zoe's 5,Autumn Love,

Craft Your Passion 30,Anything goes,
IWD66,Anything goes,
Lexis Creations 26,Anything goes,
