16 Years With Only One Brusho!

As is usual with me this is so not the card I had planned in my head when the plea came from my daughter on Friday that she needed a card for Saturday. I was going to make the usual "shaped card" so I fired up the ScanNcut but as I placed the card on the cutting mat ready, I thought that maybe I'd just add some cut numbers to the front of a card.

Numbers cut out and I just didn't feel inspired till I glanced at the Emerald Green pot of Brushos and the water spray bottle winked at me from the corner. The rest is history. The card on the base was also created in the same way but with a slightly heavier sprinkle of powder and more water . Stamping, distressing of edges, some inky stitching, piercing and a paperclip complete the card.
The Emerald Green is my bestest favourite, I love all of the colours that magically appear when you add a light mist of water.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Crafty Calendar, Anything goes,
SYSC9, Birthday,
We DoDobadoo, Spring greens,
CFTC, Birthday,
C4E, Circles,
FD, Get messy x 2.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend,

Winging It !

It's time for a new challenge theme at Southern Girls, and for this fortnight we are asking for

There's great sponsors as usual this month and I have to say that this was the first time I've heard of Aurora Wings, you must check them out, their images are gorgeous. The image that I used is "Pansy" please check out the challenge blog for full details of  the sponsors this time.

I love love loved colouring her up, I've not got my Copics out much recently and I'd forgotten quite how much I using them. I used two of the images for this card, one for the main part and one for the pansies in the corner and the wing of the butterfly that I popped up to give it dimension.
If you fancy joining the challenge, it isn't necessary to make a card as it's open to all kinds of paper crafting!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
SSS, All creatures great and small,
BZC, For the girls,
CDB, Anything goes with a bow,
IWD, Punch or Die cut,

Happy Washi Tape

I forgot to share this card the other day, please excuse the slightly off focus, I took it on my phone just before I popped it in the post never checking the quality of the pic.
I know I've shared similar before but it just has to be said that the ScanNcut does make it easy when you're strapped for time and you need a card for a male. I saved this merged cut a month or so ago, all I needed to do was work out the size I needed and cut it as one and then cut each letter individually, simple when you can just scan in all of the paper remnants on one cutting mat and move each letter into place. The strips across the card are three different washi tapes. The one with the diagonal stripes I customised by picking up the print from an old book, such a simple technique you just lay the washi onto the page, rub the tape firmly then lift it up bringing the print with it, I've never done this before but it's something I will definitely do again.
Of course it's no longer sticky but that's easily rectified with a tape runner.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

DCD, Words,
W2SB14, Something different,
YSP, Anything goes/male card,
CCC265, Birthdays,
CFTC, Birthday,
STB, Anything goes,
TCCB102, Birthday,
M-MandM, Masculine,

All Things Bright And Beautiful

It's time for a new challenge theme at Lavinia
and this time it is

A bit of resist stamping left the miniature flowers dotted on the inked grass and the Zen leaf standing boldly embossed and coloured.

The gorgeous butterfly was trimmed from the

The gorgeous blue of the Brushos (sorry, colour to be added later) was painted onto the diecut and then embossed using versamark and clear embossing powder.

I held the butterfly in place and inked the background so that pink would fill the wing area. I used the miniature flowers again around the edges of  my card.

I'm entering the following challenges:-

(to be added)

To be in with a chance of winning a £40 Lavinia voucher, all you need is to ink up those Lavinia stamps and join us in the challenge, email entries are accepted!
