MMMmmmm????????

I'm loving the Less is more challenges, they really make you stop and think,in fact I'm thinking that maybe less of the picture and a slightly lower sentiment may have worked a little better. Want to know what else I'm thinking? maybe I take far too long on some cards when one of these simply creations looks so good! The challenge this week was to pick a square on your card to use for your focal image, call by their blog for more information. The lovely pansies by Papermania Botanical were stamped using Momento Tuxedo black and coloured using Copics.
I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Less is More 17,Pick a square,
Simply Create 44,Special day,
Crafty Purple Frog,Things of beauty,
Crafty Sentiments,Special Occasions,
ABC Challenge,V is for violet.
I'm off to experiment again using another square,
 Thanks for stopping by,

Just 4U

Good evening all, let's see what sort of a mess I manage to make of tonight's post. I seem to end up with a different result every time and  I must admit to getting more than a little downhearted with it all. Before I get on to my card tonight,I'd like to say how disappointed I am to not be able to post comments at the moment I visit lots of blogs and like to leave some love, there really are some amazingly talented crafters about. I don't know about you but I'm getting fed up with Blogger's antics, the amount of times I sign in,trying to post comments and only succeeding occasionally,it's a right pain.
Anyway, enough of the moaning and on to tonight's card. I found a 5" square of scrummie floral paper that I've been looking at for ages and up until now, just couldn't bring myself to use, the only product info left said "FlipFlops".I thought that this looked just the thing to use with one of  Gayle Bond's new car digi images.

I  used the paper as it was for the centre of the card, matted it onto purple and then onto the pink front panel of my card i was able to cut 4 part flowers from the leftovers to position onto the pink, disguising that they weren't complete flowers with clever          placing. The frame I cut using Nesties and placed in the centre of the card using foam pads. I then punched some tiny flowers to        match the papers. The image I coloured using Copics, cut out and    placed some acetate cut from packaging to serve as the windscreen. I then shaped the car and placed this using foam pads.I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
DDSB60,Anything goes,
PCJ11,Favourite anything,(floral paper)
Paper Play 21,Blossoms and blooms,
ABC Challenge,V is for violet,
PWC115,Birthday card,
Paper Shelter 15,Anything goes,
Claudia and Co 82,Girls birthday,
My Time to craft 142,Use die cuts,
JAI69,fussy cutting,
Card Makin Mamas,Use scraps.
That's all from me for tonight,

A Star Prefect!

It's Thursday, great news for me as it means that I've finished for the week and better still,it's a holiday for the schools in my area next week so hopefully I'll get some extra crafting time in :)
On Tuesday evening my youngest put in a request for a card for the class to give to their prefect who leaves school tomorrow. "Can I have it for tomorrow so everyone gets chance to sign it?"  This was at 8pm,boy did I have a late night Tuesday. As luck would have it,I had the most perfect stamps for the job,Karen lent me these Woodware stamps a while back to play with, seeing as how the girls uniform is a pleated skirt,I think they were just perfect.

The badge I rescued from one of my son's old blazers, planning to use it for a scrapbook layout  but I thought it would make a lovely addition to the card instead. I just used various stamps to create the text in the background. My daughter was thrilled, she got extra house points for her form and even came home with a note from the teacher thanking me.

I'm going to use This card for the following challenges:- Crafting All Seasons 1,Anything goes, DCC525,Stitching,
TPS15,Anything goes,
TPV35,School Theme,
TCS57,Anything goes,
Creative Card Crew,Anything goes,

Woodware USA 28,Anything goes, PSC70,Pop it up.
Does anyone know how to solve my spacing problems This looks Awful I know,I've been over an hour trying to solve it but just can't work out how to resolve it
That's it from me for today, thanks for stopping by,

Life Is But A Dream!

It's Wednesday and time for a new challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. The challenge theme for week 37 is "Row,row, row your boat" I was going to colour up one of my boat images but decided that I'd get out my neglected Quickutz Dies, I don;t think I've used this since I was known as the Quickutz queen lol. I used my ribbler to achieve the bottom section of the card and if you do a close up of the image section, you'll see that I achieved the waves by cutting thin strips of card using my zig zag blade,I then glued them together before cutting the section with my Nestie Squares. The paper is Forever Friends Goodlife retro collection. The embellishments are from my stash. Forgot to say,I coloured a strip of staples blue using a copic pen then stapled a couple into the top corner of my card.
Would you like a handy tip? I couldn't find my dressmakers pattern tool to pierce around my card, didn't fancy getting my sewing machine out so went for the lazy option,I cut a strip of bazil using my zig zag blade, placed the zig zag edge to the edge of my paper, leaving a thin margin, I then used a needle to prick into every dip of the cut bazil. I hope I've explained it clearly,it's such an easy thing to do,can't believe I've never thought of it before. If on the other hand I've left you confused, please leave me a comment and I'll try to take some photos to explain it better.

A Little Dodgy!

Happy Monday! I'm trying out italic tonight, what do you think, any good or does it make your eyes feel wonky? I'm not decided yet. Sorry about the dodgy photo, there's a bit of a shadow issue and also it looks like a slight halo has been cast in the right hand corner, the sun must have reflected off my camera lens, sorry!  Another CAS card tonight,I must admit to rather liking this one too. I stamped my little Marij Rahder butterfly to the bottom centre of my card then the leafy swirls to each side using momento  Grape Jelly and Bamboo ink pads. The sentiment is by Woodware. I felt that a little extra was needed so trapped a thin sliver of white card firmly beneath my Grape Jelly ink pad and  pulled it through several times until I was happy with the coverage. I then glued the strip in pieces to the top and bottom edges of my card adding 3 purple gems  on top.
I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
OSAAT 63,Bling,
Less Is More 16,Butterfly,
FF80,Clean and simple,
Totally Papercrafts 67,Don't be square,
Creative Craft World,Anything but Square.
That's all from me tonight,

That Was A Close One!!!!

Goodness, I almost forgot to post this quick card. My lovely blogging buddy Linda is hosting this week's challenge at City Crafter so I promised myself that I'd give her a surprise and make a card to enter into the challenge. I used one of the rather lovely, tiny shaped cards and rooted through my off cuts to find some papers with stripes and polka dots though now I have added a strip of ribbon it almost looks like I've got checks and polka dots. I just added some tiny white brads a Green button and a prima flower, easy peasy!
I'm using this card for the following challenges:-CCCB57,Stripes and polka dots, I Did it 56,Anything goes,

Flutterby Sunday.

Happy Sunday everyone! it's bright and sunny in my neck of the woods at the moment but give it a few minutes and I'm sure it will be raining again, looks like it's going to be that sort of a day. Now,I don't think it's just me,in fact I know for a fact that it isn't but I'm a bit hooked on the Less Is More challenges at the moment,it feels like I've picked up a whole load of new blogging friends. You no sooner add a card to the challenge when you get a whole load of visitors calling by,I just love it!!! If you have found my via this challenge or any other place for that matter, thankyou so much for taking time out of your day to pay me a visit, you're always welcome and I hope that you'll call by again soon! Anyway,on to my card.
I stamped my image directly onto the kraft card stock, stamping an extra butterly and brushing his wings and the edges of the card with an ink pad. The leafy flourish is an old stamp from drawer,I stamped it into the corners and added a few gems onto these and the butterfly body. That's it,what do'you think? I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Less is More 16,Butterflies,
Alphabet Challenge,C is for CAS,

Fancy A Sing Song?

Thank Crunchie it's Friday!!!!
It's a nice feeling knowing that there's two whole days before it's back to work,I know I didn't have work today but today doesn't count as I've had house work to do.The reason for my post title is that when I was a little girl,my family regularly had old fashioned sing songs,my great uncle played a squeeze box and used to belt out some old favourite hits of his youth. "She was a sweet little dickie bird" and "My Old Man (said follow the van)" In my head I always pictured the "Old Cock Linnet" to be in a little cage like this.
I made this card last weekend, toying with the idea of using it for my DT post for Scrapbook Sisters' black and white challenge but changed my mind.I won this "Love nest birdcage stamp" by Glitz from Karen Wray,it was amongst the ribbon and lace blog candy and it winged it's way to me all the way from Australia. I've been itching to stamp it up but ended up trialing so many ink pads till I got an image I was happy with. Any advice on the best ink pad to use for this would be gratefully received,I don't even know which one I ended up with here. Anyway,a really simple layout using remnants from my drawer, and some black bling.
I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Pixie Cottage 8,Something new,
Crafty Purple Frog,Mono moments,
Crafts And Me 35,Anything goes,
Stampin Royalty 72,Birds,
A Spoonfull Of Sugar 152,Anything goes.
Hope to see you again soon,

Southern Girls Challenge 19

Back again with my second post of the day, please scroll down for my previous post. This is my Southern Girls DT card where the challenge this week is Lace and Pearls.I love this Paper Shelter image, she's a dream to colour,I teamed her up with some magazine freebie papers and some left overs from my drawer, I then lightly distressed the edges of each cut using a deep lilac chalk eye. Now I didn't get organised before making my card and found myself searching through my sewing box finding some lace I bought to make tie backs years ago and some pearl beads I'd removed from a dress I bought that turned out to be a BIG mistake,(big being the operative word,it made me look like a beached whale!) anyway,I wore it once, and in a mood, after seeing myself in the mirror, removed the beads and threw it in the bin. (I'm not usually wasteful lol!)
Anyway, as usual the great sponsors for this fortnight's challenge are Paper Shelter and Stitchy Bear. Remember to check out what the rest of the Southern Girls have created!
I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
KBcute 13,Anything digi,
Lexis 40,Spots or stripes,
StampsRus,Go Digital,
I Did It Creation 55,Lace and ribbon.

Scrapbook Sisters Challenge 36.

Happy Wednesday, and time for a new challenge! Challenge 36 at Scrapbook Sisters is "Black and White"for my DT card I used one of Gayle Bonds Fashion Lady Digi Stamps, available exclusively at Scrapbook Sisters. I chose not to colour her for my card I just added some doodling and some punched and layered flowers. I'm sorry,I can't remember who the gorgeous glittery paper is by.

I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for this challenge.

Check Me Out!

Well,I'm back again, experimenting with Picasa,I even taught myself a little something tonight lol!
I added text to a digi,no assistance required either, still can't get the hang of adding them to my picture album though,I'm doing it but how I have no idea!
Anyway,on to tonight's card! The digi is one of the AMAZING new car digi's by Gayle Bond, available exclusively at Scrapbook Sisters. I just added the text to the number plate, removed part of the image and stamped the greeting. Now,after entering this week's Less Is More challenge with this card,I found myself going through alternative ideas in my mind as to how I could make another one layer card with embossing, suddenly I remembered one of my earliest crafting buys,my Scrapboss by Fiskars. I must admit to having used it only a few times in the last 6 years, even considered getting rid of it but it was great for this card,I played around with lots of other embossed lines, dots etc.,but this is what I settled on. I used my Copic fine liner to add my doodled lines and that's it.
I'm using this card for the following challenges :-
Less Is More 15,One layer with embossing,
Cards For Men,Someone Special,
Incy Wincy 94,CAS,
Shabby Tearoom 62,Monochromatic,
Make It Monday 37,Anything goes.
Be sure to call back tomorrow,

I'm Getting There!

I'm Giving it another go tonight, let's see how I do this time lol! I've managed to add the photo's that I'd cropped using Picasa this time.I think I just need to do this a few times before it becomes easy, please bare with me!(worried I've used the wrong spelling here :) I've added my photo's like I would have before the Blogger updates and didn't realise that they now add them in the order you click so it's a bit back to front this time.
Anyway,on to the card! I don't know where it came from,I was just inspired by the new 6x6 "Lime Twist" paper pad by My Mind's Eye. I just cut out some of the clouds and a  balloon from one sheet and added them to another using foam pads. The Teddy I believe is Bentley Bear,a magazine giveaway from a year or so ago. The bunting I made a while back and it's been on my desk waiting to be added to a card, does it look ok?  Now for a confession,I really don't like where the greeting is stamped,it fell of my acrylic block on its way to its planned position so I had little say in the matter.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Corrosive Challenge 116,Birthday,
Paper Sundaes 69,Birthdays,
Stampin Vacation,An animal from the forest,
Allsorts 103,Teddy Bear,
Challenge Up Your Life 43,Travel,
Crafty Calendar May,Teddy Bears.

FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

What a pickle I've got myself into, me and technology........ just don't go there, please ignore that my post looks a little different from normal,I'm learning to use Picasa to edit my photos,Julie from Scrapbook Sisters kindly gave me a lesson but I've forgotten how to save my edited photos to my picture library and have had so many attempts to do it that I've now got a headache. Somehow I've managed to change the size of the photo I'm posting, how,I've no idea!
Anyway, something a bit different for me today,I enjoyed entering the Less is more challenge last week and thought I'd enter this week's challenge, the challenge asks for a one layer card to include embossing,I don't like heat embossing as I always seem to manage to curl my card so I tried to think of a way to incorporate dry embossing into a one layer card along with stamping. I used a hole punch in on thick scrap of card and punched 3 evenly spaced holes. I wanted to draw a frame on my card so decided on the position and marked where the embossed dots should go.
I then used my ball tool and the punched card to achieve what I was after. I then drew my frame and doodled around the line using a purple Sakura glitter gel pen, masked off the outside of the frame and used Momento's grape jelly ink mad to stamp 3 flowers.I then added a spot of stickles to the embossed dots, What do you think? a bit different for me,I might have another go at this challenge later in the week.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:-
Less Is More 15,Embossed one layer,
I'm having a bit of blogging trouble at the mo and can't seem to link my card, will give it a go later,

What a day, hasn't it been frustrating! This is the card that I posted yesterday and entered into the Less is more 14 challenge,I'm going to give it another go and hope that Blogger doesn't decide to swallow it again. The challenge is to make a white on white card,I'm hoping to get it posted quick enough as the challenge closes in the next hour, nothing like cutting it close.
Let's hope I succeed in my mission,

Still All White :)

Hi there,I'm off in a minute, hopefully to learn how to post a better photo, you know me,I'm hopeless at technical stuff so it may not go in but all being well................
Anyway,I completely messed up my previous entry to the Less is More challenge 14 by linking it to too many other challenges so as I enjoyed making my last white on white card, I thought I'd give it another go.
The beautiful butterfly die cut was a RAK from my lovely Scrapbooking friend Kim. Thanks Kim!
Thanks for stopping by to read this quick post,I'll let you know how I got on later,
Enjoy your day,

Scrapbook Sisters' Challenge 35.

Good afternoon all :) It's my usual Wednesday DT post for Scrapbook Sisters' where the challenge for this week is "The Birds" For my card I have used one of my favourite bird stamps from set Suzy6 by Marij Rahder. I coloured the image using Copics, shaped them and placed them on the card using a foam pad. The shaped cards are available at Scrapbook Sisters I'll add a link once I can find them on their shop, the sentiment is by Woodware. I added a thin additional edge to the bottom in the aqua card and distressed the edges using a chalk eye. The gem was coloured with a copic to match.

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this week.

You All White?

Don't the weekends fly by,sometimes I wish I was a lady of leisure,I wonder if I would ever get fed up with being able to craft more often?........ I think not!
Anyway, after seeing the white cards popping up on several of the blogs that I follow I thought why not give it a go! I so loved making this card,it put pay to my biggest problem when it comes to making cards, choosing what papers to use,I'm the worlds worst at making decisions of any kind. I ended up using both matt and pearlescent card stock, the pearlescent appears almost winter white. I just broke out the embossing folders and went for it, adding a small amount of white luster rub on to the embossed flower layer.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Less Is More 14,White on white,
CCH66,Anything goes,

What A Fab Day!

I've had a brilliant day at Scrapbook Sisters' Crop, not got much in the way of crafting done but boy have I had a laugh! I spread my stash out so much that I ended up crafting on the floor, laughed so much that I ended up crying uncontrollably, what was that about? The lovely Sue tried to console me but luckily the "moment" passed quickly. Sue was colouring up Megan Foxy, since arriving home,I've been on the Kenny K website and treated myself to a her and also "Need for Speed" digi, wasn't sure about how I'd use them but boy,I so enjoyed colouring this one with my Copics,it's going to be a perfect image for all my older Nephews and men in the family. I cut another aperture, like this card and sat Megan into it.

Southern Girls,Challenge 18

Hi,nice to see you thismorning. The challenge this time at Southern Girls is "Let's hear it for the girls" for my DT card I chose the cute image" Whatcha' doin?" by Tiddly inks who are one of the sponsors for this challenge along with Sassy Studio Design and Joanna Sheen. I Used Copics to colour her,cut her out then once I'd cut the aperture I placed her between the card base and DP adding a pop dot under the bow where it met the card front.

I cut the aperture from my card using my Nestability circles, only placing the top cutting mat up to the point that I wanted to cut to, if you've never tried this you can check out this tutorial which explains what I mean. The papers are from the 12x12 paper pad "Spring Feast by First Edition Paper" these are lovely and glittery! I added some scrummie little gems to each scallop of the frame.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-My Mum's Craft Shop 4,Cute and girly,Paper Play 18,Show us your style, TLT26,Dotty, By The Cute And Girly May,Anything goes, Pear Tree Designs 47,Free for all, Scrappy Frogs,Anything goes, Crafts For Eternity 17,Anything goes,

Card Challenge 34

I know I say this every Wednesday but boy,the weeks fly past,I can't believe that it's already time for Scrapbook Sisters' card challenge. This week it's a recipe challenge, the no cook kind :D the recipe is to include:- Two ribbons, one flower and a brad.
My DT card was made using the Forever Friends Christmas stamp.I paper pieced the parcel, adding one of the required ribbons, decoupaging a second layer to the hands,I stamped the tag onto white card and hand wrote the recipients name on this. I doodled a frame around the white layer and used the Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook to cut the blue scallops. I punched a white flower, inking the edges then layering this with a cream Prima flower, using a felt brad in the centre. I then punched another white flower and stapled the second of the required ribbons in loops around it before gluing it to the first punched flower. The card was requested by my daughter to give to her friend who's favourite colour is blue,I really must try using blue more often,I found this a real struggle as it's my least favourite colour to craft with, maybe it was using it for a girls card.....Anyway,my daughter was pleased with it!

Hope you join us in the challenge this week,

A Touch Of Sunshine

What a beautiful bank holiday Monday we're having in England today, the sun is out,the sky is blue but the wind is so strong that I've had to use extra pegs to keep the washing from blowing from the line.I found this Marij Rahder image in my box,I coloured it up ages ago using Copics so thought it was about time I used it on a card. The papers are from Forever Friends retro collection paper pad. I cut the scalloped strip using the Cricut, punched out some tiny flowers and added gems to the centres,a sunny looking card for a sunny day.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Dream Valley 6,Flowers,
