Organised Files

Anyone that knows me will know that I'm a bit of a technophobe so when my husband treated me to a new laptop some time ago I panicked as to how I would transfer my files, anyway to cut a long story short my youngest has helped me to start the transferring process and I've tried to start organising my photos.

Clever Cuts!

This card doesn't need much explaining, as they say in the adverts, it's exactly what it says on the wrapper lol!

I was rather chuffed though as I was going to mat my image onto the red Xcut panel, wasn't too sure about it but came up with the idea of using my blade to cut a line across the fancy corners of the die cut, almost to the edge,

 the floral delights too image

 then fitted perfectly as if held in place by photo corners. 

I'm so going to use this technique again!

Krafty Dies And Off Cuts

Not a lot to say about this one, just a last minute card for my eldest Nephew.

A Star Prefect.

The usual last minute request came on Monday asking for a card for the leaving form prefect from my daughter's class. 

Thought I'd have a go at making a rosette, so simple even without one of the fancy dies. I just used my scalloped Xcut punch and my trusty fiskars trimmer with the scorer instead of the blade.,I just cut myself  two 8"x 2"  strips of paper then used the punch along one edge of each strip, scoring in the centre and dip of cuts, made a concertina fold and glued together to form the rosette, simples :) I used lots of 

"thank you" stamps along with a "good luck" to form the background paper. The image stamps are Woodware"

Now, I have to be honest here, This isn't my usual style of image and I panicked at first, that was until I got out my pens and coloured her up, I absolutely love her.

She seemed to magically whisper and all of the elements fell into place easily.

Maybe I should have left the flower without the flitterglu and guilding flakes, I might decide to replace that element.

I recycled a page from a battered book, it looked pretty fab with the guilding flakes and I'm sorry, actually I'm not going to appologise for my bunting, it's my indulgence lol!

Bunting And Butterflies.

Thought I'd share a Grande Scalloped Nestability card today, I love mixing them with my smaller circles and cutting frames. It never fails to amaze me how much more classy the cuts look when they're also embossed. 

The colour scheme for this card came about because of the rather gorgeous packaging of a "Sanctuary Gift collection" I received a couple of years ago. The orange just popped when teamed with the red and black. I wasn't feeling quite brave enough here though so diluted the colours a little by adding a large dose of white. I promise that I'll be braver next time and keep the white out of the equation, I think the mix will benefit no end!

Up Close And Personal

 Ok, if you've visited me before there's a chance that you've seen a very similar card to this one before.

This time however I'm sharing a close up so you can see all of the details.

The tiny faked stitches around the hearts, the doodled black thread dotted with a white gel pen and the stamped sentiment just balanced on the die cut flourish.
