Thank You Very Much!

There's a song from the past lol! was it by Tommy Steel? not that I'm that old but as a child I used to love watching old musicals.  I'll check and fill you in at the end of my post.
Anyway, enough of me going off at tangents and back to my  post..
My DT card for Scrapbook Sisters where this week's theme is "Thank you very much"

I have absolutely no idea where this card came from but I just love it! I was looking through a box of off cuts and found a narrow strip of card and a  scalloped circle and the rest is history. I'm sure you can see how I made the bloom of my sunflower but if not you can get the idea from this post where there's a tutorial for a card using the same technique.

I thought a fluttering butterfly would suit the card so using a quickutz die and a piece of acetate which I slipped between the snipped petals, one was added .

There was also a scalloped strip amongst my offcuts, one from the first time I used my Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook. The papers by Echo Park are part of the "Spring Time Collection.
This card has got a recipient,it's to give a work colleague who's hosting a garden party for all of the team before we break for the summer. She has a little competition going on with the reception teacher over who can grow the tallest sunflower so I thought it would give her a giggle.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Jac-inks 12, Die cuts and Embossing,
SOS8,Old stash (the tag from WHS bought in a pack of 100 years ago)
Forever friends,Not Square,
Make It Monday 45,Anything goes,
OLLCB 84,Tag it,
OMC 8,Polka dots,
Scrappy Frogs,Summer flowers,
Phindy's 63,Buttons,
Flutterby Wednesday 162,Inspiration photo,
Allsorts 111,Free and easy.
Well,I've just googled "Thank you very much"! How wrong was I!!! It's a song from Scrooge, but in my defence, a few years back we watched the musical "Scrooge" in London and the star of the show was the one and only Tommy Steel.

Little Boxes.

Hi there, how you doing this sunny afternoon? I thought you might like to see one of the little boxes that I made for a friend, she's getting married soon and didn't want to give the parents invitations as such but did need to give them menus and directions to the celebration I was going to make cards using the lovely fronts from the original invites but then decided to make boxes instead. I don't have an actual box maker type board but instead I use my trusty Fiskars trimmer/scorer I've discovered over time that if I score my lid dimensions 1mm larger at every fold that once everything is glued together, the lid is a perfect, snug fit.

The letters were cut using my Sizzix Sunset Alphabet and the tiny hearts are  made using Quickcutz dies. I like the look of shadowing each letter using the same cut but in an alternative colour,it makes for a special look in my opinion.

I was going to mess around cutting numbers out for the date etc. for the inside of the lid but decided to trim what I needed from the original invitation. My friend was delighted with the little boxes, I'm going to make one to give to her as a keepsake box as a surprise.

I'm going to use this for the following challenges:-
CYDA24,Fancy folds,
PCC2,Celebrations,
Fun With Shapes and More 87,Anything but a card,
Divas By Design 5,Die cuts and punches,
Top Tip Tuesday 41,Wedding or Anniversary.
That's it from me for today, thanks for stopping by,

School's Out! (Almost)

Happy Wednesday, don't the weeks fly by,I know I say the same every week but I really can't believe that it's time for a new challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. The theme for this week is "Just for teacher" I'm sure there will be a few of you busily making cards for your children to give,if so,this is the challenge for you! I remember making loads last year when my daughter finished Junior school!

I so loved making this card and feel a little sorry that it hasn't got a home to go to,oh well, any excuse to make a card.

I love these Woodware stamps, wonder if Karen's missing them, she gave them to me to play with a while back! The fab papers including the "sums" is from a selection of 12x12 papers,Learning Curve  by Bo Bunny.

The Star was cut on the Cricut and I stapled some ribbon which I had rubbed over with a brown chalk eye. If you look closely you can see that the stripey paper was put through the ribbler.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Bearly Mine 14,Anything goes,
Oldie But Goodie 22,Anything goes,
Papertake Weekly,Anything goes,
Stamps R Us, There was a little girl,

Totally Ladybug Tuesday

It's Tuesday and Guess what? I'm now officially a "Ladybug" Yay!!!! There I was last Tuesday, all glum cos it was my last post as guest designer when Kerry,Queen Ladybug herself practically begged me to stay, well maybe not beg but I was thrilled to be asked and the Ladybugs are such a fun, friendly group of girlies!
So anyway,on to today's card. It's Sue's challenge this week and a very apt one as it was her birthday at the weekend. The challenge is "Summer Birthdays"

Here's the card I made for Sue using Winestool Nikki,I don't think Sue has a dog so decided to stamp Nikki minus her poodle.

The flower is made using a large Sizzix Die and the flourish is Quickutz Revolution. The Sentiment was part of  the free set of Ladybug stamps from the recent Cards and Papercraft Magazine.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Craft Your Passion 65,Anything goes,
DDH9,Hand made flowers,
Simon Says Stamp, and show a flourish,
