Pink cards just have to be my bestest favourite to make and the lovely glittery spotty paper by Doodlebug is just so scrummie. I've teamed it up with the deeper pink paper,"Mondovi
Ikat" Paisley Road collection by Prima,it doesn't show in the photo but it has an almost material like print with watermark flowers on,and it's double sided with the other side being large bright zigzags of colour.
The image is Dreamy by Sugar Nellie,I stamped her using Momento Tuxedo Black coloured her using Copics and added Papermania self adhesive flat backed gems to her shoes.
I made the flower by twisting ribbon into shape following a twist similar to the parcel bows you can buy. I needed to use two different ribbons together to get my desired results,I then stitched through the layers adding one button on top of another, inspired by Nancy's Button Bouquets
I wanted my greeting to be stamped onto the pink so to make it stand out I glued it onto a small piece of the pink and black spotty ribbon so that only the edge showed. Apart from the buttons which are from my stash, everything I used for this card is available at Scrapbooksisters
And there it is,my pink and black card. I really hope that this inspires a few of you to come and join the challenge as the prize for the first winner looks to be amazing.(I almost wish I wasn't on the DT so I could stand a chance to win.lol!)
The first challenge is going to run till the 14th of September so come on,sort out your pink and black stash and enter Scrapbook Sister's First Card Challenge!!!!
Thanks for stopping by,
happy crafting,
Julie.

Hi Julie, wow hun, what a fabulous DT card! I just adore pink and black so will def be giving this challenge a try, thanks for letting me know about it. In awe of your colouring, your little Sugar Nellie lass is stunning. Hugs, Sxxx
Well YOU'RE a naughty one! Sending me word on another challenge! That's like offering me a jammy day, bed-headed, phone free, chocolate coated, coffee filled day...in the middle of the week! I won't be able to resist!
And what fun seeing a link to my Button Blog.
I bought one of those button flowers while on holiday in Georgia with my sissy's. The price for the one stem was $6.50. My sister's had a fit because it was JUST ONE FLOWER. But I knew I would get a return on my 'investment' using that lone flower for a pattern later. I've made literally HUNDREDS of these as gift bouquets (even made some for my skeptical siblings.) Thanks for the link to my 'Bubble'. I can't wait to get started on a new challenge - life will settle down here SOON. This challenge is just what the 'virtual therapist' ordered!
The ribbon button is so sweet! Congrats on Design Team status. Your work is delightful.
Gorgeous card, thanks for the invite to the challenge. I'll do my best to get one made. Lovely ribbon flowers you have made. Thanks ~ Diane
Great card and the ribbon is the same process that I used for our wedding car bows!! you get a nice pointed corner, never thought to use it on my cards!!. Thanks for that
P.S. I will become a follower now.x
