On A Cold And Frosty Morning!

Before I start with my second post of the day I have an apology to make, I'm busy trying to get some of my course work done over the summer break which means I'm not blog hopping as much as I'd like to,I think it's taking it's toll and I'm feeling more than a little sad to see that this afternoon I have lost a follower!!!!  I hope that this isn't the first of many, the sooner I get my work done, the sooner I can get back to what I like to do best, visiting my lovely crafty blogging buddies so please, hang around till I'm done :)

On to my card:-
Thankfully we shouldn't be seeing any thing resembling this beautiful picture in my neck of the woods for at least a couple of months but hopefully it might inspire you and get those creative juices flowing as the challenge for this fortnight at Southern Girls is to use this Photo as  Inspiration .

The Australian and New Zealand sponsor is Scrapboxx and the international sponsor for this challenge who are one of my favourites is"Meljen" the Design team were given a choice of images, something I found a little tricky so I ended up using two! I coloured them using Copics, cut the images out and added stickles.

I used Nestability scalloped circles to cut the card and the layers using the Let It Snow paperpack by Dovecraft.

I drip of glossy accents was added to the berries.

Foam pads were used between the layers and to place the images onto the card.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
DDCC38,Anything goes,digi,
Lexis 45,Shaped card,
MIM47,Anything goes,
Pollycraft 103,Christmas in July,
Creative Inspirations 64,Christmas in July,

Happy Birthday

Poor Karen at Scrapbook Sisters was rather poorly last week so the "Birthday Greetings" challenge didn't get posted, thankfully she is now feeling much better so it will now be the challenge for this week.

For my DT card I used Sizzix dies for the flower and flourish adding a large self adhesive pearl to the centre.

A strip of ribbon topped with ric-rack was added down the side.

The sentiment was free on a magazine cut out using nestabilities, then a die cut edge strip added to the bottom edge of the card. All of the edges were brushed with a brown chalk eye.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
MIM47,anything goes,
Stamps R Us,Happy birthday,
Come And Get It Challenge, Make your own flowers,
OSAAT 72,Pearls and swirls,
PTT26,Anything goes,
Allsorts 113,Free and easy.

Sunday Owl.

Morning, hope you're enjoying the weekend. Today's post is quick and to the point sharing the card I made last night to congratulate our daughter on passing her college course

She's mad on owls so I googled Owl colouring pages and used it as a template to decoupage one from My Mind's Eye and Crate Paper scraps.

A bit of snipping and stamping, inking and doodling and the banner was created to hang from the hand cut tree branch.

A few foam pads,a frame cut to fit and the card's complete.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
2 Sisters 49,Anything goes,
Word Play Weekend 10,Wild Animals,

Hello Flower

It's Wednesday and you know what that means, time for a new challenge at Scrapbook Sisters and who can resist entering this one? it's Birthday Greetings!  Here's my DT card using my gorgeous new  Woodware poppy stamp

Ok,I know that poppy's look best red but my R27 Copic ran out mid way and left me with only a partially blended bloom, try as I might I just couldn't rescue it so that's why there's only part of the red poppy showing.

I used glossy accents on the stamens which looks fab in real life (in my opinion) The leaves from the poppy I stamped onto design paper using Momento Bamboo and added around the bloom on top of the double layer of ribbon. I don't know what's happening lately but I can't stop myself layering up the ribbons.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Stamps R Us,through the garden gate,
Birthday Sundaes,Anything goes Birthday,
OSAAT,Flowers.

Today's card is really just a quick reminder that the Summer Birthdays Challenge at Ladybug crafts is running over 4 weeks this time and there is still 2 weeks left to enter if you fancy making a card.

Money In My Pocket!

I'm really hoping that wherever you are that you have had a better day weather wise than we have in Kent today,it's rained on and off all day, there was even a thunder storm.
Just a quick post today sharing a money pocket made for giving dollars  as a gift to a work colleague.

I love these huge self adhesive pearls,I cut out some flowers from the papers and added them to the centres.

I stitched through the double layers of papers adding a button onto both sides of the paper to stop the stitches from pulling through. I then added some elastic to the lower edge using a button on the inside again to add strength.

I'm using this project for the following challenges:-
CYDA 24,Fancy folds,
Inspire Me Fridays,Anything goes,
DYSU 28,Sew,faux or real,
FBC55,3 of something.
Thanks for stopping by, have a good week,

Thank You Very Much!

There's a song from the past lol! was it by Tommy Steel? not that I'm that old but as a child I used to love watching old musicals.  I'll check and fill you in at the end of my post.
Anyway, enough of me going off at tangents and back to my  post..
My DT card for Scrapbook Sisters where this week's theme is "Thank you very much"

I have absolutely no idea where this card came from but I just love it! I was looking through a box of off cuts and found a narrow strip of card and a  scalloped circle and the rest is history. I'm sure you can see how I made the bloom of my sunflower but if not you can get the idea from this post where there's a tutorial for a card using the same technique.

I thought a fluttering butterfly would suit the card so using a quickutz die and a piece of acetate which I slipped between the snipped petals, one was added .

There was also a scalloped strip amongst my offcuts, one from the first time I used my Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook. The papers by Echo Park are part of the "Spring Time Collection.
This card has got a recipient,it's to give a work colleague who's hosting a garden party for all of the team before we break for the summer. She has a little competition going on with the reception teacher over who can grow the tallest sunflower so I thought it would give her a giggle.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Jac-inks 12, Die cuts and Embossing,
SOS8,Old stash (the tag from WHS bought in a pack of 100 years ago)
Forever friends,Not Square,
Make It Monday 45,Anything goes,
OLLCB 84,Tag it,
OMC 8,Polka dots,
Scrappy Frogs,Summer flowers,
Phindy's 63,Buttons,
Flutterby Wednesday 162,Inspiration photo,
Allsorts 111,Free and easy.
Well,I've just googled "Thank you very much"! How wrong was I!!! It's a song from Scrooge, but in my defence, a few years back we watched the musical "Scrooge" in London and the star of the show was the one and only Tommy Steel.

Little Boxes.

Hi there, how you doing this sunny afternoon? I thought you might like to see one of the little boxes that I made for a friend, she's getting married soon and didn't want to give the parents invitations as such but did need to give them menus and directions to the celebration I was going to make cards using the lovely fronts from the original invites but then decided to make boxes instead. I don't have an actual box maker type board but instead I use my trusty Fiskars trimmer/scorer I've discovered over time that if I score my lid dimensions 1mm larger at every fold that once everything is glued together, the lid is a perfect, snug fit.

The letters were cut using my Sizzix Sunset Alphabet and the tiny hearts are  made using Quickcutz dies. I like the look of shadowing each letter using the same cut but in an alternative colour,it makes for a special look in my opinion.

I was going to mess around cutting numbers out for the date etc. for the inside of the lid but decided to trim what I needed from the original invitation. My friend was delighted with the little boxes, I'm going to make one to give to her as a keepsake box as a surprise.

I'm going to use this for the following challenges:-
CYDA24,Fancy folds,
PCC2,Celebrations,
Fun With Shapes and More 87,Anything but a card,
Divas By Design 5,Die cuts and punches,
Top Tip Tuesday 41,Wedding or Anniversary.
That's it from me for today, thanks for stopping by,

School's Out! (Almost)

Happy Wednesday, don't the weeks fly by,I know I say the same every week but I really can't believe that it's time for a new challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. The theme for this week is "Just for teacher" I'm sure there will be a few of you busily making cards for your children to give,if so,this is the challenge for you! I remember making loads last year when my daughter finished Junior school!

I so loved making this card and feel a little sorry that it hasn't got a home to go to,oh well, any excuse to make a card.

I love these Woodware stamps, wonder if Karen's missing them, she gave them to me to play with a while back! The fab papers including the "sums" is from a selection of 12x12 papers,Learning Curve  by Bo Bunny.

The Star was cut on the Cricut and I stapled some ribbon which I had rubbed over with a brown chalk eye. If you look closely you can see that the stripey paper was put through the ribbler.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Bearly Mine 14,Anything goes,
