Totally Ladybug Tuesday

Morning lovlies,it's Tuesday and time for a new challenge with the Ladybugs, this week it's Pinky's challenge and a great theme she's chosen for this week I must say.
 The theme is "Tag It"

Ok,a tag I thought, that'll be a nice quick one to do,let me share a secret with you,it took me absolutely ages!!!!!
The reason for this I'll share in a minute.
I decided to  use my "Dear Santa" stamp inking just the tree part of the image and stamping it over the edge of my "Cricut" tag and colouring it with Copics. The scallop was also cut on the cricut I just added a strip of self adhesive ribbon that I've had in my drawer for yonks and inked my edges.
Right, now this is where it all became time consuming:- firstly, how do you ever decide on which bits of ribbon to use,it would be easy if I only had a limited selection but oh no,I have jars and drawers of the stuff.......first one length was cut, then another, discarded some, returned to others AAAHHHGGGG!!!!! I now have a pile of short lengths of the stuff.  Next I added a few dots of glossy accents to the baubles,I did good there, never stuck my fingers in it once. Then, couldn't decide which stickles to use, ended up using 3 colours, red to the round baubles, icicles to the long ones and a tiny splodge of yellow to the star. So far so good! Then I added the button, threaded with the gold twine which I must have touched into the red stickles adding a few spots to my oh so lovely "White space" That'll be ok,I'll pick it off with the tip of my blade.....can't be bothered so I'll do it with my nail,WHYYYYYYY! I scratched the card making an obvious dent in the card, Enter Snowflakes,  Save the day! Or so I thought.

It was then too late to bother with a photo so next morning I picked up my camera, checked out my tag feeling rather pleased that despite my troubles the tag was really rather nice. I then found myself fiddling with the button and managing to remove it from the dot of glossy accents I'd stuck it with, I know what I'll use to stick it firm with....Why I didn't learn from my previous day I don't know because I reached for a bottle of GOLD 3D paint that I squeezed and managed to dislodge the dried bit from the tip, followed by an air bubble that ejaculated a raindrop sized splodge onto the left side of my card! Moral of this story,"Don't Fiddle"

Ooops, sounds like you had a bit of a nightmare going on, but I'm so like you and can't help but fiddle with something that isn't quite dry and end up cursing myself!!

Anyway, you'd never know cos your tag is brilliant!! Fantastic idea to use the tree over the edge, might just have to borrow that one!!

LOLOLOLOL...OMG Julie...we could be twins separated at birth!!!! Despite all the trauma I love you tag and I think it was well worth all the drama in the end. Must remember your mantra for future...do not fiddle!! xx

PS...I did the 'stick the finger in the glossy accents when it was almost dry' trick leaving a finger print any forensic scientist would have drooled over. After panicking for a moment I got out my heat gun and gently melted the GA and voila! no more fingerprint!! xx

HA - triplets - all my cardmaking adventures occur with an error...or two - I'm forever making creases in the cardstock with my nails! UGH

Regardless, your tag is beautiful, snowy and delightful!

Love that little tree!

Oh lol your tag is gorgeous Julie and your story is even better - you are so not alone in your mishaps!!
I have a cricut that I bought 3 years ago and I haven't taken it out of the box yet! You're inspiring me to get it out!

The story that goes with this tag should be printed on the back so whoever receives it can really appreciate the awesome effort that goes into a 'simple' tag... it's perfect :) thanks for sharing with our Crafting When We Can Challenge :)

Hahahahahaha! I just almost fell off my chair. You won't want to hear what I did with my stickles glitter then will you?
It wouldn't squeeze out, so I applied "just a little pressure" and the whole end popped off. (I didn't even realise it could, I thought it was all sealed.)
The thick pile carpet, the cream wall, the white ceiling.. (it was turquoise stickles) was covered. I went from a brand new tube to barely a quarter full.. and my just finished card? hmmmm.. it certainly had shimmer.... hehehehe.

Are you smiling yet? :0)

Oh yes - gorgeous tag by the way. Love it! Smiles.

Wishing you a great week.

I would never have known you had a problem with the card cause I think it is beautiful. And if you are having ribbon issues you can just send a bunch to me and then you won't have to make so many decisions! You know, friends will do that for you!

It's so true Julie, the things you think will be easy turn out difficult and the things we dread doing are easy peasy and we wonder what we were worried about. Your tag is well worth it it looks beautiful, a great balance between white space and colour.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with us at Crafting When We Can Challenges. :-) xx

I would forever save this tag as a reminder of the day when crafts rebelled, but crafters won out!
If that's the case, I'd never be able to give anything away because they always seem to rebel on me. :D
Your tag ROCKS! So tiny and cute and SO much personality. Truly adorable.

Thank you for playing along with us at Make It Monday!

Don't fiddle, don't pick it up 'til it is dry and don't ask me how many "perfectly placed embellishments are actually covering oopsy-daisies!

This accounting made me laugh right out loud!

And the tag is lovely. You reminded me how much I like them and how rarely I think to make them.
