Patchwork Tilda

Here's one that I'd forgotten about, a card made for my lovely Sister-in-law a few weeks ago. I bought these papers with her in mind as she's a real whiz on the sewing machine, would love to have her skill!
She made a beautiful patchwork throw a while back  and that's what inspired my card.

The Tilda 12x12 pad has a couple of pages of die cuts so I decoupaged using two of the sewing machines. I even threaded the bobbin and added a snippet of cotton fabric and some ricrac to give the impression of it being mid sew and made a tape end to add to my tape measure ribbon where I tucked in the sentiment.
Then you know me, sometimes bunting is the only way to go lol!

The image that I have used is called "Hooter Framed" By Dillybeans, one of the sponsors for this challenge. Please check out the challenge blog for full details of all of the sponsors this time.

Just Another Name

Just another name card using the ScanNcut. this one with some hand cut bunting.

Not much else I can share with you at the moment I'm afraid. I've been sewing instead of creating cards, making some Caterpillars for work, I wish I'd remembered to photograph them before I'd given them to the children to play with. They were really cute and the perfect thing to help them develop the skill involved with buttoning their own clothes. I'm hoping that my crafting buddy Karen may have taken some photos of them the other evening otherwise I'm going to have to photograph the played with version lol! that'll teach me!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Spring Colours With Lavinia.

It's a new challenge theme at Lavinia Stamps Challenge,

Ok, mine are a little more Citrus than Spring but they are certainly cheerful! I used a selection of stamps and inks onto a piece of scrap card which I then hand cut it into triangles to create my bunting adding some inky stitching.

Framed, Scan N Cut!

I thought I'd share the gift that I made for the recent arrival of a sweet baby girl.

I found this layered box frame on special offer in Sainsburys and thought it would be perfect meaning that I could even add some lovely bunting. I have to say that the Brother Scan N Cut is perfect to create this kind of thing, I used it for the lettering, the triangles for the bunting and also the daisy border.

Whilst I'm here, a little mid way reminder that I'm hosting this fortnight's
"Totally Ladybug Tuesday Challenge"
I used an image from the "Baby, baby digi collection"

I'm using this for the following challenges:-

Oh Brother

I shared a few weeks ago that I was a lucky girly, but as I keep saying, I haven't been getting much time to play at the mo.  However on Monday, I thought I'd switch on my "Brother Scan n Cut" and make a card I needed.

Now, I've made this style of card before but I have to say, even though this was the first time I'd made one the "SnC" it took a fraction of the time that the hand cut versions have taken and gives a much cleaner result.

Saving the design to the memory it's going to be the quickest of makes next time I need a card for an 18 year old!
If you've seen the brilliant demos that Mel and John have done on C&C you'll know that it's easy to weld shapes together, I did this, flipped them and reversed them then welded them together again to create both the front and back of the card in one piece. I then just cut the numbers out individually from DP, inked the edges, and added inky stitching before overlapping them on the front of my cut blank. (Does that make any sense?)  Even the bunting was also cut on the "SnC" from sized triangles. The stars and tag were die cuts though I could also have cut them on the machine.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CWD, Shaped card,
CC258, Birthday,
PWC301, Birthday,
PPC168, Anything goes,
MIM182, Anything goes. (Sadly this is the last ever Make it Monday challenge :( )

Swing In The Breeze With The Southern Girls.

It's time for a new Southern Girls Challenge Theme
and it's a particular favourite of mine.

The gorgeous Melody is by Make It Crafty, one of the great sponsors of this challenge. Please check the challenge blog for full details of all of the sponsors this time.
Her outstretched arms were just begging to  raise up a banner. I have a confession though, the usual hand cut bunting went out of the window as I am now the extremely lucky owner of a new gadget, I used the "Scan n Cut" to cut each of the triangles of paper and to cut out the letters for "Happy" I'm rather pleased with my Polychromos colouring, it's no way perfect but it makes me Happy lol!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CM31, Use a sentiment,
TTPH30, use pencils,
MIM180, Anything goes.

I used the gorgeous "Billie Bunting" from the New release, how clever of Kerry to also have them without the numbers now!
