Fancy A Treasure Hunt?

As National Scrapbooking Day is almost here,
 are challenging you today.
The third of the challenges is a treasure hunt.
We would love it if you joined in with the fun!

You need to use a project that's still in it's packaging, an office supply, something gold and some cork.

My first ever Bind it all project!

I hadn't got any cork embellishments so I took my craft knife to a cork to make the centre of my flower.

The pages are Kraft envelopes, folded and covered with DP.
It's all ready to add photos and embelishments!

I need to do this sort of thing more often!

It's amazing how many bits and pieces you can use up.

Mini books make excellent gifts too!

I'm using this mini book  for the following challenges:-

Embrace Your Lumps And Bumps

That was a close one, I've been so busy that I forgot that today's the day for a new theme at Southern Girls.

For this fortnight's challenge Lou wants us all to

Mine aren't all on show here lol!
I couldn't possibly share them all!
Anyway, I made this tag book as a birthday gift for a friend, it's decorated simply with washi tape and tiny hearts.

The lovely die cut on the front is by Marianne Createable, one of the sponsors this time. Please check out the challenge blog for full details of all of the sponsors this time!

I made the envelopes for my tag book using my wonderful new gadget, an "Envelope Punch Board" by Stamping-Up.

My oh my, if you think it's only for making envelopes, think again. I can't wait to get time to play properly with it and share some of the other things you can make using it.

I'm using this book for the following challenges:-
TTCRD, Anything goes,
Use It Tuesday, Brown lace,
CDD20, Tags,
MIM168, Anything goes,
SCH74, Tags or boxes.

Brag Book

My lovely Sister-in-law does lots of lovely things for other people so I thought it was about time someone did something nice for her for a change. I've been dying to try this idea out for ages so with a bit of time on my hands for a change I thought that this mini brag book would make a perfect little gift to give to her with a collection of photos that we've taken over the years. This idea came about the first time I discovered that this fab frame could be cut using the Cricut.

I cut out 10 scalloped frames from cream card using "Plantin School Book",2 from thicker card the same size to give strength to the front and back covers and 10 from DP's cut 1/4" smaller. I then brushed the edges with chalk eyes.

I used 8 photos which were also cut out using the same cartridge making the circles 1/4 inch bigger than the apertures and gluing them behind the frame, this is easily done by working out where the frame will sit over the photo and choosing the spot on the photo where the centre will fall. You then select the centre point button and move the blade to the spot you've selected, sounds complicated but it is so easy,in the right hand photo below I just decided that the nose would be the centre and that's where I started the blade from.

I did very little decoration to the book as the pages only measured just over 3" the photos were really all that was needed.

The front and rear cover were decorated using cuts from the same cartridge and one of my Christmas Present cartridges "Calligraphy Collection"

I'm using this book for the following challenges:-
Simon Says,Anything goes,
Paperplay 50,Anything but a card,
Papertake Weekly,Anything goes,
Sew Many Challenges 37,Anything goes,
Incy Wincy 74,Distressing,
CYDA10,Punches,Die cuts (hope Cricut counts!)
CES17,Anything goes.
I hope Father Christmas was kind to you,I've had lots of fun playing with my new Cartridge today, just got to think of something I can make using my other new cartridge.

Mini Album

Thought I'd show you the mini album that I made for my friend to give her mum I showed you the card the other week. The album was made in the "Match Book" design with a concertina inside where there's room for 13+ photos.

This book was taught to us at my fortnightly scrapbooking class at Scrapbook Sisters. The papers are K&Co,it was such a lovely project to make and so very easy once you know how.
I had to alter the fastening of the book as I'd added a little more decoration to my pages.

Once the book is opened the pages lift in a concertina style to display photos on each side.

The recipient of the book was delighted with it I'm told and was going to hang it to display the photos one under another as the ribbon fastening could be unfastened to allow a loop to be made to hang it by.(I should have taken a photo of this as I haven't explained it very well.

And that's it,thanks to Karen for teaching this lovely project.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope that all you Mum's out there have had a lovely day,I've been really spoilt!
My youngest daughter attends the regular Kid's Classes at Scrapbook Sisters and this was the project that they made at her most recent class.

Another crafter in the family, aren't I a lucky girlie! Love you lots too Amy!

I was also lucky enough to receive some crafting goodies and be treated out to coffee by my eldest.
Catch up later in the week when hopefully I've had chance to play with some of my new goodies.
