Ding Dong The Bells Are Gonna Chime

Is this a good enough clue to the theme for this week's challenge at Scrapbook Sisters????? no?
Well just for you then,
the theme for Week 80 is Wedding Card .

I wasn't sure what I was going to do for my DT card but whilst browsing round Paperchase with my youngest I came across the most delicate piece of paper, it was marked as tissue but it reminds me of.... I think it was called Angel Hair paper that I used to use when I first started making cards many moons ago. You use to use a wet paintbrush around the edge before pulling it, giving a delicate rough edge.

Anyway, I'm getting side tracked. The tissue has delicate silver and gold flecks amongst the fibre, beautiful in real life but I'm afraid the photo doesn't do it justice.
I sprayed my card with glue, carefully placed the paper on top and left it to dry for a few minutes before cutting it to size. The hearts I cut on the Cricut using Plantins Schoolbook but this was done a few hours later giving the glue plenty of time to dry, I was chuffed that it worked and so thought I'd push my luck and use an Xcut border punch on it as well to create the scallops.

To my amazement it worked although the punch did groan slightly as the layers were a touch thick together.

I touched the edges of the cuts with a silver ink pad, unfortunately it looks a bit darker in the photo than it actually is.  A stamped sentiment added, some gorgeous bling, card complete.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Lexis 63, Punches and Dies,
Paper Sundaes 116, Anything goes,
MIM85, Anything goes.

Happy crafting!

Sweet Treats!

I'm always saying this but I don't know where the time goes, the first week of my Easter break has already past and although I planned to get some major crafting in, it just hasn't happened.  The children have been busy all week and I suppose that lots of my time has gone by playing Taxi, how lovely it is that they're making the most of their break, going out instead of staying home like they usually do, my babies are growing up fast!

Kerry, had a little brain wave yesterday and decided to give us all a calorie free Easter gift from Ladybug Crafts Ink, how great is that! There are so many beautiful cling stamps to choose from and whilst you're there, why not take a look at the stunning range of digis too, you don't even have to wait very long for delivery where they are concerned either.

Here's a card I made using one of the new Teenager Digis,  First car Josh. it all started with me playing with my xcut stamp dies, I was trying to see if I could use them to cut a shaped card like I do with my nestabilities. Yay!!! it does, I just folded my card and cut close to the edge but then cut another full stamp in my DP. Now, it was my sons 16th birthday on Thursday, you might remember that I used Xbox Josh for his card made a while back. I know that this is way in advance but to be honest I was just playing with an idea, I coloured Josh up, added a reg  to the number plate,I used one of those date stamps, was a good job that I used my copic to ink the stamp as the first time I placed it I did it upside down. LOL! used the blender to remove it before going in again. The postage mark is part of a Forever Friends set I bought the other year.

I'm using my card for the following challenges:-
Allsorts 149, Bingo diagonal line from top left,
With Attitude 10, Anything goes,
Bloggers Challenge, To die for,
Cardmadfairies 30, Die cuts/Digis,
JKOC1, Anything goes,
Cards for Men 7, Great outdoors,

Happy Easter!

Southern Girls Secret

The Southern Girls have a great challenge for you this fortnight, we want you to "Show Us A Secret" !

I used The gorgeous Paper Shelter digi image, My Little Garden ,Paper Shelter are one of the sponsors for this fortnight, check out Southern Girls for full details of all the Sponsors.

I printed up the image twice, coloured them using Copics and cut the main part of the image out from one along with one of the bees. I shaped the watering can and pot and decoupaged them using Pinflair gel.

I stamped my greeting and mounted it on the card using foam pads around the edge only.

The "Just because" greeting is an old stamp from my stash I stamped it then used gel to add the bee to the end.

I was then able to slide this in the space under the Birthday greeting.

The edges of the papers were all distressed and some stitching, glossy accents and stickles added along with a die cut flower and button just like a tiny sunshine lol!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
PSC21, Die cut,
PTT57, Anything goes,
SOS41, Sentiment,
TTT71, Stitches,
LTC4, Stitches,
MIM78, Anything goes,
Cutiepie, Flowers,
Paper Cupcakes, Critters.

Hello Monday!

Where ever did the weekend go! Already back at work and only just found time to do a bit of crafting.

My entry for this week's LIM challenge, and this week the theme is "Punches or Die cuts"

A really simple card using a couple of off cuts, my revolution flourish die and the Xcut Dielicious flower dies.

I love the fact that there are so many flower sizes to choose from in the set along with both scalloped circles and circles. I think there's around 17 pieces in the set altogether. A piece of ribbon, some twine and a button complete my card.

I'm using my card for the following challenges:-
LIM 55, Theme,
Creative Mondays 2,Anything goes,
MIM77, Anything goes,
CCH107, Punches or die cuts,
Scrappy Frogs, Die cuts.
Thanks for stopping by,
Have a good week,

Star Male.

Here I go again, removing bits from my cards lol, it's quite addictive! I find myself planning entries for the LIM challenge when I'm desperately trying to sleep. This card however happened when I got cross that the planned card wasn't going right, spat the dummy and started throwing bits away and piling up my offcuts,  it's surprising what a black strip of card and a green star can spark off.

So I layered up my card, used an long forgotten Anita's stamp and Bamboo Momento, a large sentiment which I stamped in black. I cut a green star using my Xcut nesting and removed the centre with a smaller star in the set then removed a star from the black strip which happened to be a tiny bit smaller than the Xcut die (still with me?) this gave the nice black frame to my green star. I then just remove a small circle from my card front making it easier to place the star in the correct place. You can see that I placed a green star on the inside of my card to mask the circular cut. I thought it would be in keeping to add a star to write on.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
TTT26,Text Me,
Truly Scrumptious 72,Something forgotten,
TSB24, Die cuts,
LIM 51 Theme.
Off top pop this card in the post, why do I always leave making cards to the last minute.

Awwww!

This little Country Companions cutie is adorable and can you believe was a magazine giveaway! I saw him on the lovely Sally's blog the other week and I knew I just neeeeeded to get him.

I've been hoping for the chance to colour up this little cutie, I've seen him on several blogs lately, I think lots of crafters were happy to find the lovely set of stamps on the front of
January's Papercraft Inspirations magazine.

I coloured him with copics, paper pieced his shirt and added glossy accents to his boots and nose. After I'd finished the card I realised that I'd forgotten to add the recipients age so I used a tiny Nellie Snellen die cut and a hollograhic paperchase sticky padded dot and placed a number sticker on it to make it look like the mouse is wearing an age badge.

I added a button to the centre of  a die cut star and used a pen to ink stitches to the papers.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Birthday Sundaes 38, Birthday sentiment,
Allsorts 136, Paper piecing,
Catch The Bug January, Anything goes,
CUYL60, Bingo,Centre horizontal line,
Sweet Stampin, Spots
SCT4, Layers,
