Not Quite What I Was After

This was another of the Last minute request cards from the other week, I'd mentioned how my son always leaves it to the last minute to ask for a card, well this one wasn't quite what I'd planned but he and the recipient were pleased with it.

A few die cuts, some layers raised on foam, some embossing and inking, some nail heads and a shaped sentiment pretty much completes the card. except for some ribbon, twine and a lovely big button.

I also distressed the sentiment flag and added some inky stitching.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CCC42, Not square,
DYSU95, Embossing,
PCJ, Ribbon/twine,
PCC99, Ribbon,button,
House Of Gilli 44, Embossing,
MIM112, Anything goes.

Have a great weekend,

Oh Baby Baby!

Evening, it's Team Lou's team up for this fortnight's challenge at Southern Girls and the theme this time is
I have the urge to rap now, Lou must have listened to the same music as I did when I was rather younger but S Salt and Pepper definitely are not here lol!

It's a brilliant week for sponsors this time with some of my particular favourites, check out the challenge blog for full details. I used the rather lovely "Bluey" digi papers by Eiglassing and "Sweet Dreams" by The Paper Shelter.

I hung my coloured image from the aperture cut using my Nellie Snellen frame dies,I also flipped the image so that the reverse of the cut looked just as cute as the front if the suspended image happens to swing around. On the back of the card I added the remnants from when I cut the aperture as a place to write my greeting.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Crafty Creations 175, Baby,

MMCSC62, About the boys,

I got my spots out again and inspired by the flower pots around my door step I decided to use a selection of die cuts to form a simple daffodil and potted it a hand cut flower pot. The Ladybug was made using a long neglected QuicKutz set.

Awwww!

This little Country Companions cutie is adorable and can you believe was a magazine giveaway! I saw him on the lovely Sally's blog the other week and I knew I just neeeeeded to get him.

I've been hoping for the chance to colour up this little cutie, I've seen him on several blogs lately, I think lots of crafters were happy to find the lovely set of stamps on the front of
January's Papercraft Inspirations magazine.

I coloured him with copics, paper pieced his shirt and added glossy accents to his boots and nose. After I'd finished the card I realised that I'd forgotten to add the recipients age so I used a tiny Nellie Snellen die cut and a hollograhic paperchase sticky padded dot and placed a number sticker on it to make it look like the mouse is wearing an age badge.

I added a button to the centre of  a die cut star and used a pen to ink stitches to the papers.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Birthday Sundaes 38, Birthday sentiment,
Allsorts 136, Paper piecing,
Catch The Bug January, Anything goes,
CUYL60, Bingo,Centre horizontal line,
Sweet Stampin, Spots
SCT4, Layers,
Ruby's Rainbow 19, For a child,
SSW 135, Sketch.
Have a good week,

It's Time For A Ladybug Party!

It's time to join the Ladybugs in a celebration today as we are officially One Year Old!!! Yayy!!!
Kerry also has a new Digi Release,Double Yayyyy!!!!
And Just for the fun of it,we are celebrating with a blog hop and along the way,you just might get the chance to win some candy, how many Yays are we up to ????

The name of the new digi release is called "Love and Marriage" so if you want to join us in the challenge this week, the theme for this week or Anything goes or Love and Marriage.
You should have found your way here from Kerry's Blog,if not and you want to join in with the hop and the chance of winning some prizes, you need to make you way back to the beginning where you will find all the details and rules of the hop. I was so pleased when I received my digis to play with, the first image is just perfect for me to make a special Christmas card for my lovely niece and her new husband, the added bonus is that she looks just like the beautiful image. The digi when printed has 3 little hearts just above the couple's heads,I replaced them with a die cut mistletoe and 3 flat backed self adhesive pearls. I kept my layout really simple, just embossed my background, layered up my card stock and added a little printed ribbon greeting(bought from M&S on a roll!) I forgot to mention that I used my nestie circles to do the "out of the box" cut of the image, this took a little time but it was so worth it! I Love this card!
The Image is called "The Kiss" isn't it just perfect for the Newly Wed Love Birds!

The other image I was given to play with was this gorgeous cake,or "The Cake" if you want it's official title lol!. Soooo easy to colour up,I admit the layout is simple again, but I was running short on time. This image would be just perfect for anyone making their own Wedding invitations it's a bit classy don't you think! Sorry the colours look a bit off,I edited the photo on picassa as it was a little dark, unfortunately the purple die cut now looks blue :(

Now here's the chance of winning some candy, some of my favourite braids, buttons, bling, blooms and brads along with some hand made papers and other bits I like to use, I might add a few extras gems just for the fun of it too :)
All you need to do is leave a little comment mentioning the celebrations and check back in a weeks time to see if you've won, you don't even have to be a follower but I would love it if you were!  The next stop on the Hop is Tams! Have fun!

Totally Ladybug Tuesday.

Well,it's all happening at the LADYBUGS,Laurie is now a permanent Bug and I've been given my wings, actually,I might get them taken away next week but that's a whole new story, will fill you in next Tuesday lol! Seriously though, I was beginning to think that I was destined to keep the GDT title forever but it turned out to be an oversight ;) Thanks Lisa!
What did you all think of the new Magnum Digis, aren't they fab! I hope you all enjoyed the "hop" as much as we did!
I used my Magnum stamp for this week's DT card .

The challenge this week, set by Amanda is to use Autumn colours with the option of using additional folds in your project. This was just the kick up the backside that I needed to make an easel card, I don't know why I've left it so long since I last made one,I love making them!

I used  some neglected Basic Grey papers and some off cuts from my drawer. The papers had some,(sorry have forgotten the name but they look like teardrop shapes) I cut these out and turned them into a flower with the addition of a punched circle to the centre. A papermania scalloped border die, doubled up to make the panel across the middle,it doesn't show in the photo but I used up some sequins which IRL add a bit of interest to the brads. I used a brown fine liner to add the blanket stitching to the edges of my papers,I saw a tutorial somewhere the other week on how to do this, wish I could remember where so that I could share it.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Incy Wincy,Fancy folds,
OLLCB89,Dies and punches,
Magical Mondays,Punches and dies,
Victorine Originals 17,Easel,
Come and Get it,Easel cards,

Ladybug Blog Hop!!!!

What do you want first, the good news or the bad? I'd go with the good news every time! :) So the good news is that it's Tuesday and time for a Blog Hop with Ladybug Crafts Ink to celebrate the new release of Christmas stamps. How exciting is that, even the design team haven't seen all of the releases, only the one we've been given to work with so I can't wait to do a bit of hopping myself to see what the rest of the the team have come up with!
The DT have followed this week's challenge theme chosen by Amanda and it's "Christmas in June"
So in the words of Julie Andrews in Sound Of Music,
"Let's start at the very beginning,it's a very good place to start!"
So the first stop on the Hop is Kerry, then follow on from there. Once you've posted your comment here, the next stop on the hop is "Pinky". The winner of the hop will receive all of 4 of Christmas stamps and 5 runners up will each receive their choice of  1 of the stamps.
.

What do you think of the cute stamp I had to play with,it's called "Dear Santa" and comes complete with both of the sentiments shown on my cards.

He was gorgeous to colour,I used Copics and added some stickles to the tree ornaments.

I decided to make a second card, this time using some paper piecing to create a Christmas table cloth and wall paper, not sure I'm happy with the faux stitching here though,I might go back and alter the corners at a later date.

I'm using my cards for the following challenges:-
First card-
MIM43,Anything goes,
CCC30,Die cuts,
Second card-
TSG113,Use at least 3 dies,

I'm really hoping that you join in with the fun!

One I Made Earlier!

I Hope you've had a brilliant weekend, I'll fill you on on mine including photos of my Crafty Cabin that arrived on Saturday later in the week. This is just a quick post to share the card I made earlier in the week. It wasn't what I had planned on making, my SIL love Tim Holtz style but I just can't achieve it. This card took me absolutely ages to make even though it looks fairly straight forward and the end results happened entirely by accident lol!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Secret Crafter 140, Embossing,
Sugar Creek Hallow,Tic tac toe,
That's it from me till Tuesday, when there's lots of fun planned,be sure to stop by won't you as it's Ladybug Crafts Ink Christmas Blog hop and my last challenge with them as Guest Designer.,

Feeling Sketchy

Evening all,it's nice to see you! I've always got a card on the go but I can't believe that I wasn't prepared for two family birthdays this week.My Sister-in-laws birthday is today and I didn't get round to making her card till this morning, very naughty, I'll show you that one another time as I'd hoped to catch up with her today but didn't manage it,there's a chance she might look on here before I see her.  This card is for Saturday but I think I should be safe to show it here. I wanted to use my LOTV fairy, I haven't used a sketch for a while now but when I saw this  one I thought it would be perfect.

The papers are from the 12x12 paper pack.First Edition"Spring Feast" I thought the pattern echoed the curls of the hair on the image. The next photo isn't brilliant as it  was taken in the sun light but shows how glittery the papers are.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
LOTV's 102,Sketch by Donalda,
Crafty Creations 124,Let it shine,
Belli 120,G-glittery,
EAC147,Anything goes,
MPS, Wings,
TCSP20,Things with wings.

Totally Ladybugs Tuesday.

Happy Tuesday! How time flies when you're having fun and I've certainly been having some of that with the the lovely ladybugs! I feel kind of sad to think that next Tuesday will be my last as Guest designer and that I'll have to return my Tiara! :-(
Till then I'm going to have some more fun!  This week it's Gaelle's Challenge, the theme is "Use some red in your project" So for my card I used the rather lovely, cuddly Magnum with add ons, coloured him using Copics, added on a slice of cake using a foam pad and cut him out using my Nellie Snellen Frame dies.

The sentiment comes with Magnum,I just added some doodling around the edges and a little glossy accents to his nose.It doesn't show up too well but there's also some stickles added to the candle flame. The buttons are added using red glittery thread, no ribbon this week's card as it's for my friend's husband.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Scrappy Frogs,Use Red,
SSIC94,Doodle,
Speedy The Cat 60,Use buttons,
Stamp and Doodle,Male,no flowers,

Totally Ladybug Tuesday

It's Tuesday and time for Challenge 32 at Ladybug Crafts Ink and my second week as Guest Designer. It's Tams' challenge this week and the theme is "Numbers"!
It's up to you how you use them but if you're stuck for ideas there's some great examples from the Design Team so why not check them out!  For my card I used Winestool Nicky, coloured her using Copics and  placed the image behind my "Nellie Snellen frame" die cut. If you look closely you can see what a lovely fancy aperture it cut from the pink DP, I just added some gems to each cut. I couldn't decide which ribbon to use so decided to use a selection of 5 different ones. The numbers and sentiment are also available from Ladybug Crafts. I just scattered a few gems onto the edge of my paper and glued them where they fell.

I'm hoping that you can see that I used glossy accents on the glass and some stickles on Nicki's eyelids.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Pollycraft 97,Ribbons and flowers,
Woodware USA31,Birthday,
Paper Sundaes 73,Girly girl,
I hope you join us in this week's challenge.

I'm Cold!!!

Goodness gracious it's a bit cold this morning! Hope it's warmer where you are but I'm thinking I might switch the heating on. I suppose if I whip round with the hoover it might warm me up a bit, wasn't what I had planned though! I might have to resort to a few non waffle posts over the next few months and I hope you'll forgive me for not calling by quite so often as I've just enrolled for an NVQ level 3. I'm not so sure it was a good idea as I didn't realise that it's done on the computer so I might struggle a bit being such a technophobe!!!
Anyway,on to today's card, you'll see several more using the same papers over the next few posts as once I started cutting into them, I just couldn't stop myself. They are Springtime by Echo Park and were part of my recent Scrapbook class kit.
The sentiment is by Ladybug Crafts Inc  where there is some Blogaversary Candy on offer at the moment!

The card is very simple, the die cuts are cut using my new Nellie Snellen Multi frames and the flowers are Prima.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
AIF,New,
DYSU23,Birthday,
Scrap Creations,Birthday,
OLLCB81,Birthday,
Scrappy Frogs,Birthday.
That's it for today from me,I'm of to jog around the house and warm up :)
