Long Time No See

I can't believe that this is my first post of 2018!
I suppose it's a bit too late to say "Happy New Year" but I hope that the year is going well for you so far!

Any way, I was loading some photos onto my computer and realised that I hadn't shared this ScanNcut card that I made way back in September 2017 so, here it is, quite simple really just lots of the inbuilt shapes and a bit of distress inks to dirty up the football.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Allsorts 456, Beginning with B, Ball,
Crafty Catz 405, Birthday,
CC133, Boys.

Fancy A Jaffa Cake? (Other cakes are available)

The new challenge starts at
Lavinia Stamps, the theme this time is
hence the reason for the title of this post, I'm sure that many people can remember the advert where the lady teaches the children about the the phases of the moon with the aid of the fore mentioned sweet treat, saying with each bite:- "Full moon, half moon, total eclipse" as she polishes it off! If you've never seen it I apologise, it just tickles me.

For my first card I used the following images:-
The oh so lovely Mooch
The Moon, was masked as I added a little ink to the sky I adapted its size by stamping through an aperture. I stamped the slender mushrooms beneath the tree..

For my second card I used one of the new cutting files, Bliss, cutting it on my ScanNcut, the cutting files are something new to Lavinia, there are so many to choose from. I love being able to size them perfectly for my needs, I also used the ScanNcut to cut my octagonal card blank and the frame which I inked and stamped using my favourite Background script stamp
I used foam pads to lift the cut image from the stamped background.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
Kitty Bee 87, something new, (cutting file),
Purple Haze 117, Fantasy.
If you'd like to be in with a chance of winning a £40 voucher to spend at Lavinia, ink up you Lavinia stamps and join us in the challenge.

Anything Goes!

It's time again for a new theme at Southern Girls and this time the challenge is simply

I fancied a change this time and decided on making a layout so although I didn't use an image, we still have some great sponsors this time so don't forget to check out the challenge blog for full details.

This isn't quite what I had planned but whilst checking through my supplies for suitable papers I found some corrugated card that I had saved from ages ago, I have seen some great work on Pinterest using it and had great fun distressing it, peeling back the paper layer to reveal the wavy lines beneath. I added some texture paste and distress inks to my card base too, quite liberating for a CAS girlie, I even sprinkled on some Brushos for good measure.

I'm using this layout for the following challenges:-

Sisterhood of Crafters, No DP,
Use Your Stuff 222, texture or modelling paste,
Unstampabelles57, Creative Upcycling,
We love to Create, Mixed Media.

All That Glitters

Happy 2016 bloggers!
December ran away with me, one day maybe I will be organised but 2015 seemed worse ever. Maybe it was the fact that as usual I left my cards till the last minute to make.

This is never a good idea as Christmas is also one of the busiest times of the year at work also, all I want to do when I get in at the end of the day is sit in the chair and stay there.

Then I had this bright idea that instead of buying presents for the little ones in the family, I would make them, why oh why did I decide to do that!

Don't get me wrong, I stretched myself thin but I wouldn't want it any other way the presents were all made, wrapped and delivered in time and I even managed to make the post!
If I remembered to take a photo I might even show you what I made another day.

Anyway, this design of card happened entirely by accident, I'd used my ScanNCut to cut the words, glued two together to give a little depth whilst still being thin enough for a standard postage stamp. To add some sparkle, I sprayed glue over the cut then sprinkled with glamour dust. When I picked up the word, the paper scrap looked so pretty, leaving the word plain which lead to the idea of  glittering directly onto the card blank. Unfortunately the camera doesn't pick up the shadowing that was left where I offset the word showing a thin unglittered area.
Not bad for some last minute makes.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
Avenue613, Anything goes, CAS,
CCC140, Square cards,
CHNC, Christmas,
CTC, Sparkle.

I Fancy Mirrored Monotone.

Good Morning, a bit of an early start for me today, I just couldn't sleep. I ended up getting up after laying there for ages, my mind working overtime on things that I need to achieve over he next few days both at home and at work.
So I decided to get up, catch up on some comments and then suddenly remembered that I hadn't made this post.

As this week saw the last challenge of the year for Southern Girls, I thought I'd join team Trace in there challenge
even though it was really a bit of what my daughter fancied, being a name card for her friend's birthday.
So, if you fancy joining us this month, there are some great sponsors as always and we would love to see your creations!

Eight

I thought I'd share another card from a few weeks back designed and cut using the ScanNcut. I'd originally planned on making a football card as the recipient is a keen player, my ideas didn't work but as I'd got black and white cardstock on my bench I decided to just go with it. The embossing and inky stitching add a little interest.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
TTCRD, Anything goes,
TT262, For a child,
BZ.September, Teens and tweens,
CYP279, Anything goes,
RFC281, Cards with numbers.

Just Fishing.

Thought I'd share the card I made for my fishing loving brother-in-law. I created the card blank using my ScanNcut, cutting another of the shape in silver card which I then inked, stenciled and scored to hopefully make it represent a rainbow trout.

I attacked my feather duster and used some wire and a paperclip to make my "fly" using some recycled silver thread for the "line" and then inked over a googly eye to make it look a more realistic colour.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Bloggers, Fly (Play on words),
Allsorts, recycle,(silver thread saved from gift wrapping)
SCT93, Special Occasion,
SPC12, Anything goes.

Flowers with Southern Girls.

It's time for a new challenge with the Southern Girls today and we have another nice easy one for you.

I didn't have chance to use the sponsors image today but there are some great sponsors this time, please check out the challenge blog for full details.
I used my Scan and cut to make my card, shaping and welding together petal shapes to make the shape then cutting out individual petals and inky stitching each one by hand the leaf and stem image is a built in shape. I shaped each petal with a ball tool and used glue and foam pads to place each one. The centre of my daisy was cut from felt with a nestability circle. The sentiment was also created using the draw option before sizing the tag, angling and cutting it.

I'm using my card for the following challenges:-
TIOT, Flowers,
IDCB48, Anything goes,
CGC3, Anything goes,
CWAA6, Anything goes.

Starring One Brother

Here's another card that I made a few weeks ago. Everything was cut on the ScanNcut.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Seize The Birthday, Anything goes,

Pick A Colour, Any Colour!

There's another colour challenge this month at Lavinia,
this one's an easy one,

If you would like to be in with a chance of winning the £40 Lavinia voucher prize, all you need to do is ink up your Lavinia stamps and enter, you don't even need to have a blog as email entries are accepted.

I really love my latest Lavinia stamps, for my rabbit card, the green layer was created using the
oh so gorgeous "Ivy border"
because my cardstock is textured, the detailing is subtle but take it from me, it's a stunner!
To add my greeting I thought it would be fun to make a sign post, to create this I inked just the stem of "Zen leaf" and hand trimmed my computer generated words, doodling around the edges and placing them using glue and foam dots.

I used the Zen butterfly for this card, inking my stamp with brown for a more subtle look, colouring with a selections of Copics and adding stickles to the wings and glossy accents to the body. the background is randomly stamped again with the script and very faintly with the Stone texture.

I used Guilding flakes on doublesided tape around the edges of my image.

My final card shows off the Ivy Border more clearly, stamped onto a pink frame created with the ScanNcut.

I added colour and sequins to the butterfly on the

I also decided to add some inky stitching to define my butterfly.

I'm using these cards for the following challenges:-
GCC16, Butterflies,
CAGI, Distress it,
TCCB, Number's up,
ITP70, Wings.

Flowery Fifty!

Just a quick post to share a card I made using my
MFT Die-namics Floral Fusions die. I placed the diecut between my aperture layers adding a scalloped frame created using nestabilities.

Placing the numbers was slightly tricky as I didn't want the foam dots to show on the inside of the card. 50 was cut using the ScanNcut and glittered using Wink of  Stella.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
HIMCR 201, Freestyle,
KBD, Stitching,
TCCB, Numbers.

It's Written In The Stars,30!

I am really embarrassed to say that the recipient of this card had to collect it from the post office today.
I am slightly miffed as he had to pay the postage for it despite the fact that I put a large second class stamp on it. I posted it last Monday in plenty of time for the birthday on Thursday. I can't believe that it took over a week for the Post Office to bother contacting him, I am disgusted!

I used a stencil for the stars on my frame created on the ScanNcut. It doesn't show but I layered two different Washi tapes directly on top of one another, the different shades of green blended through the translucent tape achieving a pretty good colour match to the background paper.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Crafter's Cafe 118, For the boys,
Double Click, Father's Day or male,
Male Room 11, Washi tape,
Mod Squad, Masculine,
MMM, Kraft.
