Patterned Paper

I'm a tad behind with posting my Team Lou card for Southern Girls this time the theme is
I'm more of a CAS kind of girl and seem to have got in the habit of avoiding papers completely, I have pies of them stockpiled, some real beauties, I get them out, stroke them, shuffle them for ages trying to decide on combinations for my cards the abandon them, which was pretty much how I started with this DT project.

I bought some lovely lined paper pads from Paperchase a while back, and decided to print my image directly onto it, opting for a heavier outline to the Ppinky Dolls image, they are one of the sponsors this time, please check out the challenge page for full details of other sponsors this time.
Still couldn't decide on pattered paper and found myself punching flowers from my scraps, that's when I decided to just cover one of my note books, it doesn't look so good here but in reality it's rather lovely!
I'm using this notebook for the following challenges:-
CGC67, Die cuts or punches,
FBD, Flowers,
TCA13, Anything goes Girly.

Cover Up.

I thought I'd share a little something that I made for a gift.

I picked up some little notebooks in the reduced basket in the local chemist last year, I wish I'd taken a photo of the original, it already had a little fold over cover in a matchbook style with a nice strong magnet fastening.

I just felt that by covering it would make it look nicer and slightly more classy that the black and white polka dots it came with.

Now, I don't know about you but I love to look round the Pound shop, a while back this hair accessory  caught my eye, the jeweled flowers are in fact rather lovely but I can't imagine that the flimsy comb that it came on would ever be strong enough to hold it in anyone's hair.

The Kraft card looks good with the black embossed card, I can't remember what I used to highlight the embossing, it may have been a gold ink pad or some gilding cream, I did make it a couple of months ago so I've forgotten.

I'm using this notebook for the following challenges:-
WLTC, Mixed media,
Altered Eclectics, Mixed media,
RCS, Mixed Media.

Remember Me?

This has to be the longest  that I've gone without blogging for a long time, I don't know where the time's gone. It was half term for us last week and we spent a few days away, it was torture for me, don't get me wrong, I had a brilliant time and spending time with my lovely family is always good but I didn't take any crafting stash with me, not even a pencil or a pair of scissors!....... Never again!!!!  I've lost my mojo somewhere along the way, I can't colour and you won't believe how much paper shuffling I did before changing my mind completely and giving up the idea of  making a card altogether! I even made completely the wrong DT project initially but luckily, I had just enough time to make/ cover  this note pad and the bonus is that I already have a project ready for the following challenge, lol!

Anyway, before you run off, bored by all my waffle, the theme for this fortnight's TLT challenge hosted by Sally is

So,as long as you're project has something along those lines in it, this is the challenge for you!

I used a notebook, parcel tag, staples and a paperclip, stamping only part of  "Shopping Ruby by LCI" on to my tag before making a poor attempt at colouring her, sorry Kerry, I must try harder lol! I did enjoy collaging all the elements, I've had the scrap of "My Minds Eye, Follow your Heart" paper on my bench for ages, I've stroked it and used most of the double sided paper but this piece was just so special, it needed to wait for the perfect moment to be used! Ruby fitted the bill a treat, she so reminds me of my niece who I've made the note book for. Check out my crocheted Rose too, I made it last year and it's been in my drawer ever since!

I cut the girls name using a Sizzix Alphabet,I punched flowers and used some metallic stickers for their centres then tied coordinating ribbons to the spiral binders.

Thank Goodness For Crafting.

Arriving home from school with Christmas gifts of chocolate from her friends,  my daughter decided that perhaps she did want to give gifts this year, now I had offered a few days ago to get presents but she'd decided that it wasn't needed this year. What is it with teenage girls, I'm sure I never gave gifts to school friends, we used to just do cards, these days, cards don't seem to be "cool" but presents seems to be the thing! Now, I did offer a trip to the shops, even though I'd had enough of traipsing round shops for one day,but a very undecided voice didn't know what she wanted to buy. Luckily I remembered that I'd bought a pack of cheque book sized note pads, ready for some boxing day party games, so I suggested to personalise them as gifts for her friends.

Very basic I know but with limited time and using a selection of offcuts along with my Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook cartridge,my daughter was pleased to have unique gifts to give her friends.  If I'd had more time to play with I'd have added some decoration to the pens. I can't believe what a bargain these worked out to be,  the books and pens worked out at around 35p a go plus it's cleared a little from my off cuts drawer.

I'm using these for the following challenges:-
Charisma Cardz 49,Last min,Christmas makes,
Samuel Taylor, Anything goes,
Cooking It Up 86, Anything goes,
The Paper Variety, Anything goes,
Anything goes,56,Anything goe's o+ optional tag (tag used)
