Struggling with ideas for a card for my brother-in-law, I resorted to making another negative cut on the old Cricut. That centre point button sure is useful!

Working My Way Through The Off Cuts.

Thank heavens for my Cricut as it saved the day with simply the press of a button. It made my FIL's card a fairly quick make.

I cut out the letters by using the "centre point" button so that I could fit the letters to fit exactly across the middle of my card, discarding the actual letters but keeping the remnants to replace later.

I then used a pencil to mark where the spaces left by the letters were and glued off cuts and washi tape over the area. The front was then placed using foam pads also adding foam pads to the remnants before fitting the back into their places. This was easily done by putting the cut letter back into their space, replacing the remnants and then removing the cut letters again. It sounds more complicated than it actually was, honest :).

Cheers.

I thought I'd share a card that was requested by a friend for her husband's special birthday.

They run a pub and she was thrilled with this personalized creation.

I'm not a great lover of decoupage, I really don't like lots of layers and foam pads but the images on this sheet were so perfect, nothing else would do.
I decided to just shape each layer slightly and add only a thin squeeze of Pinflair gel instead.

Some numbers cut on the Cricut, ribbling and embossing,

paper piercing and twine along with my favorite, hand cut bunting complete the card.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
I haven't made any resolutions this year, I certainly didn't manage to keep last years where I aimed to make one Christmas card a week, oh well, I managed to get them all made in the end so didn't have to resort to making lots of New Years Cards to make up for it like I did last year.
I haven't actually made any New Years cards and haven't done any crafting for a week so the only card I have lined up to show you is  the second card my friend ordered for her mum to give her sister. I was at a loss what I was going to do other than use 2 hearts and the sentiment that was requested but I have to say that I was rather pleased with how it turned out, good old Cricut and Plantin's School, to the rescue once again! The snowflakes and colours as you may know if you saw the first card, are to go with the Wedding theme.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

BM67,Something Old Something New,(old cartridge,new charms)

A Break From The Patchwork

I thought I'd give you a break from the patchwork and share my husband's Birthday card. I used my Marij Rahder Stamp for the birds and drew and cut a tiny birthday crown from Kraft paper. The cream was embossed using a star folder, I pierced the edges using a pattern maker tool and tied twine around it before adding it to the card front.

The heart was cut using Plantins Schoolbook on the Cricut.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
DBD61, Anything goes,
PPC102, Anything goes,
OBGC, Anything but Christmas,(Marij Rahder Stamp)

Sweet Sixteen

There's not a lot to be said about this card, I'm afraid it was a bit of a rush job and I'm a bit cross with the fact there is a tiny slither of the white card base peeping out from behind the purple. I never realised until the glue was completely dry, isn't that annoying!

I thought I'd ink up my forever friends bunting from an Easter stamp set, looks ok but I think I'll stick with my usual style of bunting, it's much more dimensional and easier on the eye me thinks!

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

DBD56, Anything goes,
DOCB36, Anything goes,

Off Cuts And Paper Squares.

It seems like I've spent the last couple of days making a card, you know how it is at times, you keep cutting shapes, trying out different, shapes, colours,sizes....... before you know it, you can't find any dies as they are hidden under a huge pile of leftovers.
Anyway, this is what I came up with using up a lot of the pile, even the butterflies were ready stamped and coloured, part of a one layer experiment that went a bit wrong, they looked rubbish on the other card but how fab they look now they've been given their wings :) The numbers were cut using offcuts and Plantins Schoolbook.
It was one of the quickest cards I've made in a while, the most time consuming bit was removing the little squares from the backs of  the foam pads. (don't those pesky things turn up everywhere lol!)

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-

4 Crafty Chicks, Leaves,
Delightful Challenges, Distressed,
In The Pink 4, Embossing,

PCJ, Sentiment,
TTT, Shaped,

Such A Star

What else was I supposed to do to congratulate our son on his amazing GCSE results!  I was going to add "U R" or "What" but my husband said that nothing else was needed.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
CIP, Back to school,
MSCC92, School,

Before I go I need to share what a terrible mother I am. Before I made this card, our youngest daughter asked me if I was going to make a congratulations card, when I said I probably would she came out with, that's good, you forgot to make one for me when I passed my 11+ the other year! How terrible did I feel! I just can't believe that it slipped my mind.
Not wanting to to be accused of favouritism I got cracking and made this card using my Marij Rahder stamp paperpiecing the snail's shell.

It made my daughter giggle!

Double Trouble With The Ladybugs.

Before I start I need to apologise for the photo quality here, I took it around a month ago and don't ask me why but I must have had a brain storm when I used a blue background!

It's the lovely Laurie who is hosting this fortnight's challenge at "Totally Ladybug Tuesday" and her theme of choice is
It doesn't necessarily need to be two images, can be two buttons, two flowers etc, so long as there's two of something, Laurie will be delighted to see it!

I used two Magnum stamped images, Tiptoeing Lily Magnum and Add on Magnum I coloured one kitty a Tabby and one Ginger.

The numbers were cut using the Cricut and Plantins Schoolbook. I added a scalloped circle to the back of my card to write the message on, three tiny punched flowers and three little pearls.

The bunting was hand cut, stamped using tiny alphabet stamps and inky stitching added, some gorgeous swarovski crystals were added to the punched flowers along with some twists of ribbon.

I'm using this card for the following challenges:-
Bitten By The Bug, Birthday and pearls,
Forever Friends 38, Anything Goes,
Lexis 67, Birthday,
MIM94, Anything goes,
